Therese Johaug is made of gold, and she is running very fast independently of what she is doing. And on Thursday 5 August 2021, she made a new track record in Lysebotn Up, and the new record is 30 minutes and 45 seconds, and the old one was 31 minutes and 18 seconds.

Therese Johaug was first over the line in Lysebotn Up also this year, and her time was 30 minutes and 45 seconds, and this is new track record! Therese Johaug won the steep downhill race over more than 1 minute and 30 seconds before Heidi Weng on the second place. The French Delphine Claudel took the last podium place. The race was freestyle with skating, and staking.

How should any of us behave when having roller skis available for use? Try a few going left and a few going right. Focus on driving your inside knee down and forward so your hips (and center of mass) keeps momentum going into the corner and forward when you exit. Don't let your body hold you back! Aim for at least 2 minutes in between each speed.

Lysebotn has got its name because it is located in the bottom of the Lysefjord. And this is a place that is popular for ordinarily people living there, for tourists, and for people doing competitions and training. And many people are jumping from Kjerag 1 000 meters over the Lysefjord, and they are doing the jumping in a parachute on their back! And there are several things to be done, also to stay over the night in a tourist cabin, and taking the ferry on the fjord, going to and from Stavanger.

Therese Johaug is grateful to the audience around the track, and she is perhaps in better shape than ever before this year. But there were beautiful conditions on Lysebotn Up, dry asphalt and appropriate temperature.

Cross country skier Therese Johaug is a huge star in Norway. Since her return to the sport following a drugs ban she has been dominant to the point of eclipsing her nearest opponents. Three gold medals at the World Championships at Seefeld last season, and that is impressive!

Since Therese returned to competition, the races have changed. They go from the gun at an extremely high pace. This new rhythm, which affects all the athletes, is not appropriate for some cross country skiers, and several coaches from different countries in the world have told Therese Johaug that. And Norway is a place for winter sports during the winter season, and maybe that is what people think about when thinking of Norway. It is not just the fjords, the birds, the valleys, the mountains, the sea and the water that attract many foreign people to Norway, but there is especially skiing during the winter.

Why is Therese Johaug running so fast on ski races? She is the best skier among the women, and for that she has won the trophy, and how do you win that? For every race points are awarded to the top 30 finishers: 100 points to the winner, 80 for second, 60 for third, winding down to 1 point for 30th place. The racer with the most points at the end of the season in mid-March wins the Cup, with the trophy consisting of a 9 kilogram crystal globe.

Therese Johaug has won the World Cup overall in 2019/2020. She has a total of 76 Word Cup victories in her career. And she is still young, and can win even more. And Therese Johaug never gives up, and she is still hungry for medals and glitter.
