Iced Cube Coffee and Coffee Collection

in OCD4 years ago

What is your most favorite coffee? and how many cups do you drink in a day?

These days people try to find ways to drink coffee in unique ways. Iced cubed coffee has been around but I have not tried it. Only about three days ago, I tried it. I don't think it's really that good if you want a stronger coffee effect but aesthetically, it's pleasing.

I made the coffee above using Arabica ground brewed using french press. It was the day I got my Arabica coffee. I was also rushing in making the coffee. So probably it affects the taste too.

It's really simple to make. All you need is espresso from your preferred ground coffee. And then serve it with milk. So it becomes coffee milk but the milk overpowers the coffee taste. It's really not worth it. So don't dare trying if you don't want to be disappointed like I did.

These are my current coffee collection. So far, I enjoy drinking Robusta the most. It has mild aroma, milder taste and less jittery despite having more caffeine content than Arabica. When it comes to arabica, I don't really like it's strong smell and the acidic after taste. Today, I spotted a new brand and probably will collect them as soon as these three finished. I already did two reviews from Robusta Gold and Classic. Next I'll do Arabica.

Though these days to tackle the heartbeat and jittery problem, I take a special supplement to lessen the anxiety caused by it. So, I can still drink them safely without feeling like I suffer from angina.

Dang!!!! I've been thinking of doing that actually!
Before anything though, I have to start making good coffee for myself. I've been hooked with two cups of the instant black coffee per day, and I think it's the time for me to level up my coffee game! :D

This is the only way to make iced coffee. I don’t undestand people who add plain ice cubes to coffee, it just waters it down and is still warm.

It is ! but I need to find a better way so it tastes better. I also only like to add a few ice cubes to iced coffee. When I do take-away, I ask them to give it separately.

Add a shot of espresso to it if you think it’s too milky :)

Sips her regular mud coffee as reading about Macchi's coffee adventures Those coffee ice cubes look so tempting! I love iced coffee, I first tried it in Greece. But they used crushed ice in the mixture of coffee. Also Frappé was one of my favorites. I remember how I used to drink it in few minutes and Greeks were laughing at me that I am supposed to drink it slowly as the ice slowly melts away.

ooh that's something new! I'll try using crushed ice then and perhaps it'll taste stronger? I think the Greeks will laugh at me as well. I tend to finish iced coffee in like a minute! @georgeboya, do you confirm this? how should we drink ice coffee haha

How do you brew your coffee btw?

With crushed ice it will mix with milk a bit more for sure. My observation was that Greeks enjoy company of friends a lot and love sitting down in a lovely spot and enjoying conversations for hours with their iced drinks. I admired that a lot, because here people mostly hurry with everything and are so much more stressed with their lifestyle than in Greece.

Oh, I am coffee savage xD I drink my coffee way too strong and don't own any equipment for it. I simply use coffee grounds that people normally would put in the machine, like 2-3 teaspoons in the bottom of my cup and pour boiling water over it, let it sit until it is in temperature I can drink it. That is why I call it mud coffee because it is so strong and sometimes I make faces when I drink it. It also gives me anxiety sometimes. Especially when I used to overdose on it with 3-4 teaspoons and had 2 cups like that a day. I have cut it down to 1 and stopped drinking coffee for a while all together to knock down my tolerance a bit. Seems to be way more suitable for my body now.

I think I am well-suited living in Greece when it comes to slow culture. I just hope they don't have Earthquake then they'd probably be eligible to be a place to settle down. do they have earthquake?

ah yeah, I used to drink that way until I decided to get french press. It makes my drinking experience better. I get jittery from cafe coffee, I think they always do a tablespoon which makes me having anxiety. But for me, I like 2 teaspoon. I had horrible experience once when I felt like dying. I promised not to drink coffee anymore that night but oh well, I still do!

I have heard of Italy having earthquakes, but not much in Greece. Especially on the islands. Greek islands are paradise! You would love it there. They are like little universes of happiness. It seems like all the worries just melt away there. Perhaps it's the holiday spirits that the tourists bring there and it's the permanent vacation vibe. I spent one summer on one such island as part of internship for my studies. I worked most days, but it felt like holidays every day. Never felt more happy in my life or smiled so much. I worked with people too, and I was just happy. Finished work and go sit on the beach and sip a nice drink. So peaceful. Or explore the island, or go party, or find that one perfect bar with the most awesome crew of bartenders who are just the best people! So many options for a perfect chill.

Aww. I know that feeling. That is why I think you are onto something with your little experimentations with what would work for you the best. To strike the balance is not easy, but I am sure you will find your perfect coffee experience! :)

omg you were so lucky to get an internship there !

Well the reason we drink Frappe slowly is to enjoy our time and also because Nescafe is kind of strong, lol. Crashed ice came in fashion these years, traditionally we put ice cubes. You would love it @macchiata and it is to made, check the video:)

Dont know if you can find the original Greek mixer, lol

That looks like Dalgona coffee ! yeah that definitely won't work with just ground coffee. It only works for Nescafe classic. I have tried different brands but nescafe is the only brand that works.

Yes only works with nescafe and it looks (and tastes) like Dalgona. You would like it, has this rich cream and goes well with milk:) But you need the mixer, lol

yeah, the whisk doesn't do the same job. I wanna buy a mixer but my room is overloaded already xD

I love Coffee I should try this

Even though you ended up with coffee-flavored milk instead, a lesson was learned. Thanks for sharing @macchiata.

hahaha yeah! next time I'll try with crushed iced.

I love irish coffee. I drink it on special occasions lol. I used to drink lots of coffee when I was a teen. Now I can't sleep if I drink it too late lol.

I like irish coffee too and rum coffee. but since I promised not to use the food delivery again, I have to say goodbye to irish coffee and its friend.

I'm also a coffee lover. I'm feeling like I can smell your coffee from here. ☕💚
