Greetings, as participation in the information guild of covalent I wanted to give my opinion about what is the web3.
Can you remember for a few seconds, what was the internet when it was just a luxury that few could afford, that time where it was normal to use dial-up and occupy for hours the phone line at home?
If you remember it, you went through one of the stages of the fast advance of the web; if you don't remember it, don't worry, you skipped waiting times that seemed to last a lifetime.
It is impossible to talk about what the web3 is without remembering part of what the internet was like a couple of decades ago or at least making some comparisons.
The concept of what is web 3.0 is a bit fuzzy depending on the point of view with which you look at it; for programmers and developers it is about faster, more fluid and intuitive technologies, sites and apps that help to do practically anything from a device, for cryptocurrency enthusiasts it translates into greater exchange freedoms, for the general public and thanks to the latest news everything points to a metaverse, a place (or set of places of deep immersion).
In either case, web 3.0 aims to be, what was originally expected and at some point lost direction, that is, to be a place of infinite possibilities and above all FREE, far from being centralized in a group of organizations that maintain control and if it can be said, limited to their generally economic interests.
FREE TO DEVELOP
The free or open source tools are not new but they have had a difficult path and nevertheless, they have managed to make their space among the most used technologies when it comes to developing applications and websites that are used today. Unfortunately, it has always been in the shadows of proprietary technologies or even when they work together, it is always at their service.
This is constantly changing, developers and organizations are increasingly betting on the use of open source technologies, aware of the potential of people and the contributions they can make to the growth of the Internet as we know it.
Proof of this can be seen at the level of servers and Internet providers, where many are probably unaware that the main software used is open source, in other words, Linux.
OPEN SOURCE
As I said before, the main aspect to have in mind when we think about web3 is open source, not having "the need" to illegally obtain proprietary software but to collaborate in community projects and especially of greater scope for all, for the improvement and reach of people. This is why social networks and decentralized communities are emerging, most of them supported by blockchain technology, a technology that in theory will allow a transparent economy.
Platforms such as hive, steemit or reddit, can be a clear example of decentralized communities, which among other features seek the benefit of both readers and content creators, promote improvement and "control" by the users themselves, in community, seeking consensus.
These platforms are gaining more and more strength and can no longer be ignored even though they do not have as many users as Facebook (now Meta) or Twitter. However, with the correct use, they will become icons of the healthy and evolved freedom of the Internet.
UNITED COMMUNITY
Another intrinsic philosophy of the web3 is to work together between content creators and consumers, to generate common interests that lead to the desire to maintain a healthy and win-win environment, in other words, an environment where everyone wants and seeks improvement and not remain inert in the face of toxicity, working towards the inclusion of education for others.
Betting on the work and collaboration of those who are part of this new environment under construction, promotes the unity of the parties (creators, users, consumers) and the search for not only economic gains but also informative and educational, to improve people, the Internet is improved and conversely, to improve the Internet, people are improved.
This last point, it should be noted, would be supported by a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) or other means that are easy to reach and that allow to receive ideas and proposals, even to vote on actions that seek improvements in the platform. It is no coincidence that all this is reminiscent of Covalent ;)
Certainly web3 is not a perfect dream, since it cannot be ignored that it is born from web2, the internet that we know and really live at this moment, however all efforts are put in its push and make it work, besides overcoming the main and big problem, the moderation.
The search is to overcome the need for a centralized entity with particular interests that is in constant control, on the contrary, it is the community itself, the users themselves who achieve the moderation of the spaces.
We sincerely hope that this is not just a utopia but a reality in the medium term and that we can undoubtedly affirm that we are on the right path.
Saludos, en esta ocasión quiero compartirles mi visión sobre lo que es la web3 o web 3.0
¿Puedes recordar por unos segundos, lo que era el internet cuando apenas era un lujo que pocos podían darse, esa época donde lo normal era usar dial-up y ocupar por horas la línea teléfonica de casa?
Si lo recuerdas, pasaste por una de las etapas del veloz avance de la web; sino lo recuerdas no te preocupes, te saltaste tiempos de espera que parecían durar toda una vida.
Resulta imposible hablar de lo que es el web3 sin recordar parte de lo que era el internet hace un par de décadas atrás o como mínimo hacer algunas comparaciones.
El concepto de lo que es la web 3.0 es un poco difuso según el punto de vista con el que se le mire; para losprogramadores y desarrolladores se trata de tecnologías, sitios y apps más rápidas, fluidas e intuitivas que ayuden prácticamente a hacer cualquier cosa desde un dispositivo, para los entusiastas de las criptomonedas se traduce en mayores libertades de intercambio, para el público en general y gracias a las más recientes noticias todo apunta a un metaverso, un lugar (o conjunto de lugares de imersión profunda).
En cualquiera de los casos, la web 3.0 apunta a ser, lo que originalmente se esperaba y en algún momento se perdió la dirección, esto es, ser un lugar de posibilidades infitnitas y sobre todo LIBRE, lejos de ser centralizada en un grupo de organizaciones que mantienen el control y si puede decirse, limitada a sus intereses generalmente económicos.
LIBRE PARA DESARROLLAR
Las herramientas de código libre o abierto no son nuevas pero si han tenido un difícil camino y sin embargo, se han logrado hacer su espacio entre las técnologías más usadas a la hora de desarrollar aplicaciones y sitios webs de los que hoy en día se usan. Lamentablemente siempre ha estado a sombras de tecnologías privativas o incluso, cuando trabajan en conjunto siempre queda a su servicio.
Esto esta en constante cambio, los desarrolladores y organiaciones están cada vez más apostandopor el uso de tecnologías de codigo abierto, conscientes del potencial de las personas y los aportesque pueden hacer al crecimiento del internet que conocemos.
Muestra de esto podemos verlo a nivel de servidores y proveedores de internet, donde probablemente muchos desconozcan que el principal software utilizado es de código libre, en otras palabras, Linux.
CODIGO ABIERTO
Como decía anteriormente, el principal aspecto a tener en mente cuando pensamos en web3 es el de código abierto, el no tener "la necesidad" de obtener ilegalmente software propietario sino la de colaborar en proyectos comunitarios y especialmente de mayor alcance para todos, para mejora y alcance de las personas. Por y para ésto es que están surgiendo redes sociales y comunidades descentralizadas, la mayor parte de ellas apoyadas en la tecnología blockchain, una tenologia que en teoría permitirá una economía transparente.
Plataformas como hive, steemit o reddit, pueden ser un claro ejemplo de comunidades descentralizadas, que entre otras características buscan el beneficio tanto de lectores como creadores de contenido, promueven la mejora y el "control" por parte de los mismos usuarios, en comunidad, buscando el consenso.
Plataformas que cada vez toman más fuerza y no pueden ya ser ignoradas a pesar de no contar con cantidades de usuarios como lo hacen Facebook (ahora Meta) o Twitter. Sin embargo con el correcto uso serán espacios íconos de la libertad sana y evolucionada del internet.
COMUNIDAD UNIDA
Otra filosofía intrínseca de la web3 es la de trabajar en conjunto entre creadores de contenidos y sus consumidores, la de generar intereses comunes que lleven al deseo de mantener un ambiente sano y de ganancia para todos, en otras palabras, un ambiente donde todos deseen y busquen la mejora y no se mantengan de inertes ante la toxicidad, trabajen en pro de de la inclusión de la educación para con los demás.
Apostando por el trabajo y colaboración de quienes formen parte de este nuevo ambiente en construcción, se promueve la unidad de las partes (creadores, usuarios, consumidores) y la búsqueda de no solo ganancias económicas sino tambien informativas y educativas, al mejorar a las personas, se mejora el internet y en sentido contrario, al mejorar internet, se mejoran las personas.
Este último punto, cabe resaltar, estaría apoydao en una Organización Autónoma Descentralizada (DAO) u otros medios que sean de fácil alcance y que permitan recibir ideas y propuestas, incluso someter a votación acciones que busquen mejoras en la plataforma. No es casualidad que todo esto recuerde a Covalent ;)
Ciertamente la web3 no es un sueño perfecto, pues no se puede ignorar que nace del web2, el internet que conocemos y vivimos realmente en este momento, sin embargo todos los esfuerzos están puestos en su empuje y hacer que funcione, además de superar el principal y gran problema, la moderación.
La búsqueda es que se supere la necesidad de un ente centralizado y con intereses particulares que esté en constante control, por el contrario que efectivamente sea la mísma comunidad, los mísmos usuarios quienes logren lamoderación de los espacios.
Esperemos de corazón que no sea solo una utopía sino una realidad en un mediano plazoy que sin lugar a duda podemos afirmar que estamos en el camino correcto.
