What is a Patagonian nomad?
Patagonia is a territory that seems to have no end. Where the spaces are as big as a person's sight reaches. Endless steppes. Wind and loneliness.
In that environment I was born and raised. In that environment I went to school, I met my first friends, I had my first girlfriend.
As a teenager the passion for traveling began to take me from one place to another. First I wanted to know Patagonia (all) - From North to South.
From East to West. Even the most inaccessible places.
Those through which tourism never passes. Because there is no infrastructure. Because there is no advertising either. And many times not even means.
Where haste is unknown and patience reigns supreme.
Walking, climbing, crossing rivers, snow, hills, mountains and lakes. Always on foot. Backpack to man. Tent to sleep.
Travel and learn the value of distances.
I traveled all over Patagonia. I toured and learned to know the natural beauties of the provinces of Rio Negro, Neuquén, Chubut, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego like the back of my hand.
Calafate, Los Glaciares National Park, Puerto Natales, Torres del Paina, Rey Glacier, El Bolsón, Navarino Island, Cochamó, San Martín de los Andes, Punta Arenas, Punta Varas, Quelat National Park, Viedma Snowdrift, Villa La Angostura , Lake Nahuel Huapi, Lake Pehoè, Villa Llao Llao, Los Alerces National Park, Lanin National Park, Nahuel Huapi National Park, Lake O'Higgins, Lake Futaleufu, Lake Nordenskjöld, Glaciar Upsala, Esquel, Jeinimeni Nature Reserve, Coyhaique, National Park Vicente Perez Rosales, Cerro Castillo, Puerto Blest, Puerto Rio Tranquilo, Lago Puelo, Cerro Dorotea and the list goes on, endless.
On one side of the Andes mountain range and on the other. Different countries twinned in their southern part by a common territory.
A solitary but friendly territory, with humble, solidary and sincere people ready to help on any occasion. Because they know that the need can arise at any time. To any person, native or foreign.
A roof, a meal await at the next destination.
I keep memories of each place that I will try to share on this platform. Some sharper photos, others less. But always valuable.
Evidence of a journey that I will hardly try again.
So the opening phrase: patagonian nomad.
Being a Patagonian already means traveling through spaces without time, where the clock is a simple reference instrument that sometimes is not even taken into account.
The guide is always the sun. And the stars at night.
Named is a simple adjective. When I have finished exploring Patagonia I will feel like a true nomad and I will start with other open spaces where communion with nature is total.
I am always looking for new horizons.
