When you search on Google by the keyword "Hive", you'll not find Hive Blog easily. Because it's in the 52nd position at this moment, which is on the 6th page if you search by 10 pages in each window. And the good thing is it wasn't even in the first 100 websites a few weeks ago.
So, it's clear that we are growing every day, we are doing fine. But is it enough to rank "Hive" on Google Search within the shortest possible time? Why ranked websites on the first page are more powerful than us? I did a small research about it.
Every month approx. 450,000 searches on Google only from the USA by typing the keyword - Hive. It's a huge amount of traffic just from a single word keyword. This means if we can rank to the first page, we can reach to approx 450,000 people only from the USA.
But here comes the hard part. SEO difficulty of ''Hive'' is 65, which means this keyword is way more competitive. Keyword difficulty considered as Easy if the difficulty number is below 25. You can do this search with any keyword on Ubersuggest.

_Data were collected using similarweb
_For the month May 2020
_All data are approximate
I was so excited when I was typing this data. Because we are doing just great, I should say incredible! I also checked the data of the second-ranked website Hive Apache, and the data are almost the same. We already crossed both websites in many ways and booming.
Why Hive.com is in the top
- As you can see from the chart, the main reason behind "why hive.com is in the top" is it was old enough, founded in 2013. Google loves old websites which have some good traffic. And hive.com didn't have any strong competitor in the terms of SEO until now. And we can't just beat them by going back to 2013 using time machine. We need to have patience in this matter.
As you can see in the stat that Hive.blog already crossed the traffic of Hive.com in mid-April. And traffic of the blog is increasing day by day. This is a marvelous thing, but we need to keep in mind that Hive.com s an old site and getting approx 200,000 visits every month. Their total pageviews are far more higher than ours. So again, all we have to do are more advertising, more SEO. And then just wait!
Our bad aspect is we get less search engine traffic then Hive.com. Though their traffic was 250,000 less than ours, they got 9% extra search engine traffic than us.
And that's one of the main reason why we need SEO badly!
Search engines like Google love organic traffic. Organic traffic means when a visitor will visit any website by searching on google.
For Example - Suppose and visitor searched on Google by a keyword ''Fat Burning Tips''. If we have any ranked article for this keyword on google and if the visitor visit it, that's our organic traffic.
- As you can see, the Domain and Page Authority of Hive.com are higher than Hive.blog. But there's nothing to worry about. I already told you about it in previous paragraphs. If we focus more on SEO for getting organic traffic, then our PA, DA will increase automatically.
In my opinion Hive.blog is running on the right track, stats are booming! You just need a little bit of SEO in your post. It's like a little bit of salt while cooking to make the food tastier. Just select a main keyword, use it on the title, first paragraph and image alt tag. Try to post long content and use inbound and outbound links. And if possible, share it on social media(no-follow) and make some guest posts or comments on other blogs to create some backlinks. But be alert, avoid spamming.
All of these are just my amateur analysis. I would love to know your opinion. Let me know in the comment section.
In my assumption, you don't need more than 10 minutes to do basic search engine optimization(SEO) in your article. So why not?
I believe everyone wants to see their articles on the first page of Google.

Nice Idea. I've noticed that google's algorithm links Hive to Steem, so if you search for "hive steem", you'll see information about us in the first page. it takes more time for us because of how generic the word is
