RE: ...

in OCD4 years ago (edited)

The only thing I could possibly see it being related to is that I had another match with a lady here in Fernie whose profile was something like, “stimulate my brain...” and I’d sent her a message joking that’s I had a metaphorical pharmacy stocked full of red pills, asking what kind of trip she was looking for...

Logically, it might have been possible that Tinder has some AI bots screening messages that interpreted that as having to do with drug dealing.

Otherwise, no fucking clue.

Pretty sure it had nothing directly to do with the cool match. I wouldn’t have suspected she’d have gone stalking me elsewhere - or even if did and was freaked out, she probably woulda just ‘unmatched’ me rather than reporting for some non-existen violation. (Unless Madgoat is right with his assumption/joke... a possibility that actually might make more sense than anything I could think of... 👆)

I’m kinda over it by now. Still choked with the timing, though at least am forcibly done with that crap place/app... 🤷‍♂️

(And I actually did do a quick search to see if I could find her on Facebook, figuring she had a rare name so could possibly find and attempt picking up the chat... though turns out the name wasn’t that rare after all. Seems one of those generational trends - I’d never heard it before, but there are a ton of 16-22 year olds with that name... so that was a no-go.)

Sort:

Ah, that is a bummer. There are ways to find people, but it sounds like you are more than okay just letting this one go and preparing yourself for the next/right chance.

I guess they have to be careful about liability, but it still seems a bit knee jerk of them.

On to bigger and better things I guess!

Unless Tinder staff will actually help me sort this out and get back online...

Apparently they’re not doing ban appeals, though I did open a ticket anyway and wasn’t left totally hanging...

So, we’ll see... 🤷‍♂️

If you could truly find out the "why" that might at least give you some peace about the whole thing. Even if they never let you use the platform again. At least you would know.

Agreed.

Customer support had asked for a screenshot of the ban message, so hoping that I’ll at least be able to get some clarity on what specific term I violated if nothing else...
