Lockdown Day 20 - time to explore new worlds (in my mind)

in OCD6 years ago

I think artists (like the writers, the poets and others) have an extra gear to live the time at home during these days of lockdown. Not just because more of us use to work at home (or in a lab close to home) for the most part of the year, but also because they have a sort of window always open to new worlds. The worlds that we can create thanks the imagination!

The first days of the locdown was not so simple to use my imagination on a positive way, because my mind was full of negative thougths for the covid-19 dramatic situation, but after about a week I started to clean my mind from negative vibes. I think this could be an useful tip for people who is in lockdown since some days: after you cleaned your hands and you respected the social distancing, you have to clean your mind from bad thoughts and anxiety, so you can life your life at home in a better way ^_^

To improve my positive vibes, some days ago I started to create some poetic images based on photos I took in my backyard.

At first, I take some macro of details I find in the corner of my backyard. A branch of my plum tree, a piece of moss, a leaf. After I took the pics, I use my graphic tablet to draw something on them. During the previous days I imagined tiny white house, but today I decided to create a tiny sailor man:

The idea came to me because the form of the leaf in the pic reminds me a boat ^_^

The following pic is the original shot I took in my backyard before to use the graphic tablet:

I hope this little thing I created can give you some good vibes and make you think to the imagination that you can use to image some little worlds to explore inside your home ^_^

I want to share with you also a good news: during the last few days, in my country (Italy) it seems the contagion is going slower than before. This is a good news and it means the lockdown is working. I'm pretty sure we have to continue the lockdown until April 18 and after we'll have to continue the most part of the restrictions, but to know that all this hard days in isolation are working to contain the contagion is giving me hope.

See ya soon and take care of yourself!
