Is crypto the same rigged game as stock market?

Hello my fellow bloggers! Today we are going to discuss how fair the market is for small investors. Let’s dive in and discuss.

Recently Bloomberg posted results of online survey that shows up to 50% of American adults consider stock market to be stacked against them. You can see the chart below. I can understand these results. Banks, funds and other financial institutions built stock market to suit their interest. A small investor is welcomed to bring his hard-earned money to the market. Yet they will not want you to succeed. They want you to apply for their financial services. Just give them money and sit idle waiting for your part of profit.

This makes me wonder if crypto market is the same rigged game? We all know crypto market is highly manipulated. Yes, it doesn’t have financial institutions, but it has sharks of other kind. Whales, mining pools, exchanges – all have enough firepower to change the rules of the game. The market itself is a wild west where anything is possible. Yet I don’t think this market is stacked against us a few reasons.

Reason 1: Market is still new

It was created by ordinary people for the people. The original rules were designed for small investors. These features are still here. Anyone can learn to profit on this market. You don’t need financial education or experience in legacy financial institutions, You don’t need to compete with them for profit either.

Reason 2: BTC is decentralized

We have lots of whales, yet we have many more small investors. Whales can manipulate the market and define the moves. We still can ride the same waves. Exchanges belong to small investors and anyone can participate in the market.

Reason 3: BTC is traceable

No one knows what happens behind the closed doors of cabinets on Wall Street. In crypto the situation is different. When a whale starts to move funds, we can see it in blockchain. We have access to various analytics. If you read my blog, you know how often I post useful data from various sources. Anyone can use this data for his advantage. Only a few chosen ones have the same luxury on the stock market.

What do you think about crypto market? Is it a fair or a rigged game? Let me know in the comments below!

Many people compare the crypto markets to "the Wild West"; I think a better comparison is a "gold rush" where we are 2 weeks behind the people who discovered that gold. More people than ever have opportunities to strike their fortunes.

Even if the crypto market gets rigged, we can still benefit from it at the individual level.
