Use What You Already Have

Many of the limits we come against in life are not based on lack of opportunity, but rather the unconscious belief that we are not good enough to start with. Some people think they can’t succeed because they don’t have the correct certificates, while for others, staying in their comfort zone feels like too much uncertainty. But life has proven that what you already have can be much stronger than what you think you lack.

For years I had the illusion that my Certificate was my ticket to a better future. I carried my Certificate with me everywhere (to keep hope alive, apply for jobs, wait for answers) and it didn't happen. And now 7 years later, I still don't have a job. It took me time to realize that a certificate can't guarantee success, and many people are actually experiencing the same thing.

Ironically what eventually opened doors for me was what I had been doing naturally for many years — writing. People can’t really write well, but seeing what publication companies and media companies demand of writers, you see how much business a good writer gets. My certificate didn’t get me a job anywhere, but my writing skills open doors of opportunities I never dreamed I’d get.

This made me realize that we all have something of value that we just don't realize. People who do not have degrees may have some creativity, discipline, communication skills or even technical skills. These are things that people really need to find their own but most people just don't appreciate the things they already have.

Fear of the unknown is also a really strong barrier because it keeps people in normal routines which are not always helping people grow. But most of the things that we fear only seem impossible because they 're new to us and when you know what they are you start to fear them less.

Basically‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌, when you find yourself in a situation of being lost, think of the things that you are already capable of doing. What does it seem like being natural? What can you take from what you already have? Which personal characteristic do you have that no one else?

Real changes are made through the utilization of what is already in your possession. That one skill, habit or talent really can be the turning point to the place that you want to go in your life. Use the things that you already have to get what you want.

Meanwhile, don't forget that you are not coming from zero ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌point.You are starting from experience.
