Welcome to the latest DUO update post. We hope you all are had a great week, we have some announcements to make.
We would like to announce a new way for folks to acquire DUO, you set @duo-curator as a benefactor on your posts and get equivalent DUO payout in 7 days with a 5% DUO bonus!
This is a way for us to get more funds into the project without relying on curation and sales.
We also brought about the idea of expanding our offering to make DUO more resilient and cross chain ready, the reality is that our reliance on hive inflation is far from ideal, and if we look at the math, with hive price hitting these lows the value of our HP reserves have gone down.
We wanted to expand into collateral loans, the question was how do we go about funding it, The most fair solution seems to be to power down some of curators HP and use that for loans, as well as diverting some of the funds we generate to the loans instead of growing HP, We have been growing it but its value has come down a fair bit.
@bitcoinman has been developing some hive scripts with a sell bot that sells HE tokens at a preset USD target updating the order when the price of hive changes more then 1%, the idea here is that we could have a semi isolated system that is not going to be effected by hive price swings however things are a more complicated as DUO is already a year old and we sold a lot of tokens and have a fair bit of holders and so we putting this idea on the table for your scrutiny.
Beside the loans we are also looking to bring in revenue by offering services via DUO service nodes, the short of it is that people that are interested can set up a DUO service node and it will automatically host different scripts and services, the operator get paid and DUO takes its cut, and the customer gets a competitive offering for hosting their service, there is also money to be made with creating these scripts, there is still much R&D for all that but we will be sure to keep you all posted

Important
DUO stakers are free to unstake as they please however we ask that when you do so you notify the DUO team, we set the curation up manually and letting us know keeps things fair for the other stakers.
Failure to do so will result in a 50% drop on curation on the remaining stake (Assuming its over 200 after the unstake as a reminder 200 is our minimum for curation) for a period of 1 week, there is no penalty for unstaking, only if it's done without notification to the DUO team.

Manual curation
When the voting mana is running high (above 85%) we have created a queue of our stakers who will receive an increased manual upvote when this is happening. First you must receive a normal vote from the @duo-curator to be eligible for the boost. The boost percentage will be up to 50% of a vote. Once you receive an additional curation your name moves to the bottom of the list so that everyone has a chance to benefit from this. New stakers that buy and stake at least 200 DUO will start at the bottom of the list to be fair.

I like the ideas presented here.
With regards to setting beneficier rewards will this be used as:
A. Rewards are directly distributed from team/sales stash?
-Or-
B. HP rewards will be used to buy DUO off the market at cheapest price (regardless of who is selling?)

It is most definitely some awesome ideas.
I'd even say, when the cross chain is happening, doing some small script to do automatic trades on preselected tokens (decided by the community) would be awesome 👌🏼
Perhaps something like the market makers from the strategy team - but not the same setup.
Also, I've thought about doing scripts. Currently I have my own script running on my local computer and it's working like a charm. Can even be updated without restarting the script.
Would be cool to host scripts and maybe even create some too!

Rewards will be paid from a separate account so funds don't become intermingled.
The HP-only rewards will all be powered up to accelerate growth. This means dividends and curation will grow faster than before.
