It's Little But It Helps.

It's another week and it keeps getting better with DCC. This week's focus is on health and you can participate by clicking [here]

Health should not be what we have to trivialize but most people would rather wear themselves out than take a deserved rest. It's always honourable when we give that body a deserved rest than when the body demands for it. When the body demands for it we would always feel so much worse and the things we think we don't want to miss out on, we would eventually miss out on them. That extra sleep, those supplements, that extra bit of attention they always help.

Last week I knew I needed a bit of extra rest and I decided to use that to visit the clinic too. Coincidentally, both wifey and baby were not feeling good as well and we all decided to do a blood test to know what was wrong. The result came back and I was the only one off the hook. I have no malaria, no infection - clean as a whistle. I made light jokes about it with her and those around.

She laughs at me when I buy supplements and immune booster drugs. I've always been the type that would rather spend money to stay good than to be at the mercy of others or spend money that could have been avoided. They always say that we need to be careful about what we allow into our mouths so that we can determine what will go into the pocket of our doctors.

Eating healthy is good and due to the nature of the kinds of food we have here where we only take mostly carbohydrates, it is essential for us to eat a lot of fruits, drink a good amount of water and but the supplements. Most people would argue where they would get money for the supplements from but they spend way more than that on data, casual dates and irrelevant things. When they are sick, money somehow pops out to attend to their ailing health so why not take good care of it when you can?

I've been guilty of not sleeping as much as I should and not eating at the time I should but I have been making a good number of changes on that and I have been feeling good about myself lately. It's not about eating a full bowl of food but about the quality of the little one you have eaten. There is no need to gamble on our health when we can actually do better. Life doesn't come with manuals but no one should tell us to gamble with the only thing we have to achieve success in the world we live in; our health.

Most people struggle with balance and this is why I enjoyed @byebyehamburgers' post on the personal journey of Day 1452 | Evening Walk & Long Deep Sleep. [Click Here To Read]. The writer personally set aside days to walk and sleep longer. We would find out that our bodies would feel better and stronger to tackle even the work we have.

I started a challenge of taking 100 days off to mainly focus on my health and overall personal development and used this account as a personal blog to keep track of all my activities. I enjoyed it and continued afterward trying to build better habits and find a good balance between health, fitness, work, and my personal life...

The last part of what was said there drew me to that post. Having a good balance between our health and fitness, work and personal life is important. Most people neglect their health due to work. The excuses would always be about work but when they break down, work would still continue and when they are unfit to work anymore, work would still continue and they would be left with wishes.

Take care of yourself and it's not too late but it can get worse. I try to take a lot of fruits and sometimes blend them as smoothies. Taking fruits supplements too helps a great deal. It's all about prioritizing it. I didn't even know there is a supplement for the eyes until I got one 2 weeks ago mainly to help the pressure I put on my eyes with the screen I stare at. Our health is a combination of every part of our body not just some parts. You can't take care of one and ignore the other because when you do that, the one you ignored would definitely affect the other, whether we like it or not. It's one for all...they are all intertwined.

Having good health would open you to what is achievable because what can anyone do with health that isn't sound?

Thank you for your time.

Aaah! It's an eye opening post, a thoughtful one to remind us of the importance of rest for living a healthy life.

Many of us are pushing ourselves so hard that we finally break down, and then rest becomes a compulsion; so we should take it as a choice. That's difficult though. If I take my example...it is very difficult for me to take rest even if I want to. My body would lie on the bed but my mind would be awakened with the thoughts of various tasks. It becomes more cumbersome for me.

Attaining a balance is important but it is the most difficult thing to do on earth (hehehe. I feel so 😃)

Hahahaha I feel you and I am so guilty sometimes too. I would promise myself to sleep by 10 pm and one way or the other I would have something to do that would keep me up till 3 am. It's about finding that balance, no doubt and we can only do that on earth hahahaha.

we can only do that on earth hahahaha.

😄😄. And it is really difficult doing it on earth.

Hahahaha.
