Espero que la luz, la salud, la seguridad, la prosperidad, la alegría, la felicidad, el amor, la libertad y la paz esten con todos ustedes y con sus familiares y amigos. En esta ocasión traigo para ustedes una Iglesia que visité el día de ayer, viernes 18 de febrero, con una familia amiga y con mi amada esposa. Se trata del Templo católico Parroquial Santa Rosalía de Palermo, mejor conocido como la Iglesia de El Hatillo, ubicada en el casco histórico del Municipio homónimo. Les invito a conocer este hermoso recinto sagrado.

Hello community, receive a fraternal greeting from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. I hope that light, health, safety, prosperity, joy, happiness, love, freedom and peace be with all of you and with your family and friends. On this occasion I bring to you a Church that I visited yesterday, Friday, February 18, with a family friend and with my beloved wife. It is the Catholic Parish Church of Santa Rosalía de Palermo, better known as the Church of El Hatillo, located in the historic center of the homonymous Municipality. I invite you to visit this beautiful sacred precinct.

El Templo católico Parroquial Santa Rosalía de Palermo está bajo la responsabilidad, administración y custodia de la Arquidiócesis de Caracas. Esta Iglesia fue declarada Monumento Histórico de la Nación en 1960. Luego, fue nombrada Patrimonio Cultural de la Nación en 2005 por el Instituto de Patrimonio Cultural. También fue declara bien de Interés Municipal por la Alcaldía de El Hatillo.

The Santa Rosalía Parish Catholic Temple in Palermo is under the responsibility, administration and custody of the Archdiocese of Caracas. This Church was declared a Historic Monument of the Nation in 1960. Later, it was named Cultural Heritage of the Nation in 2005 by the Institute of Cultural Heritage. It was also declared of Municipal Interest by the Mayor's Office of El Hatillo.

Templo parroquial y corazón espiritual del pueblo de El Hatillo. Inició su construcción el 19 de diciembre de 1784 y fue bendecido el 3 de septiembre de 1786, en las vísperas del día de Santa Rosalía de Palermo, patrona del pueblo.

Ayer visité esta Iglesia con mi esposa y mis grandes amigos la Familia Guerra Figueroa quienes están atravesando un momento de tristeza por la muerte de un joven muy querido, miembro de la familia Figueroa, sobrino de mi amiga Aída. Mi esposa, hijos y yo nos solidarizamos con ellos porque son nuestra familia espiritual, la que decidimos tener.

Yesterday I visited this Church with my wife and my great friends the War Figueroa Family who are going through a of sadness for the death of a very dear young man, a member of the Figueroa family, nephew of my friend Aída. My wife, children and I sympathize with them because they are our spiritual family, the one we decided to have.

Al llegar a la Iglesia me di cuenta que posee una sola nave larga y angosta, me extrañó el diseño arquitectónico porque la mayoría de los templos que he visitado tienen tres naves, una central y dos laterales. La Iglesia Parroquial Santa Rosalía de Palermo tiene una entrada principal con dos portones de madera al estilo colonial con forma de arco en su parte más alta. Los bancos de madera se encuentran a cada lado del estrecho pasillo que da al altar mayor, el cual está al fondo de la edificación religiosa. Al entrar al templo, a mano derecha está una pequeña capilla donde pude observar el sagrario, además observé un cuadro de Jesús de la Divina Misericordia y un bonito vitral que permite el paso de la luz para ese pequeño anexo de oración y devoción.

Upon arriving at the Church I realized that it has a single long and narrow nave, the architectural design surprised me because most of the temples that I have visited have three naves, a central one and two lateral ones. The Santa Rosalía de Palermo Parish Church has a main entrance with two wooden doors in the colonial style with an arch in its highest part. Wooden benches are located on each side of the narrow corridor that leads to the main altar, which is at the back of the religious building. Upon entering the temple, on the right is a small chapel where I could see the tabernacle, I also saw a painting of Jesus of Divine Mercy and a beautiful stained glass window that allows light to pass through for that small prayer and devotion annex.

La iglesia posee dos portones laterales; el de la derecha conduce a un patio interno que tiene unas cruces de metal que representan el Vía Crucis de Cristo, existe un pequeño circuito con árboles ornamentales de tamaño mediano este sitio colinda con la casa parroquial. La otra puerta que está del lado izquierdo de la iglesia conduce a un pequeño espacio sin techo y con un depósito cerrado; observé un pequeño baño, unas plantas ornamentales; además, existe un salón de reuniones y que supongo también es utilizado para la catequésis. Los espacios son frescos, limpios y muy agradables, con un estilo añejado que rinde tributo al tiempo y está en armonía con el casco histórico del Municipio El Hatillo.

The church has two side gates; the one on the right leads to an internal patio that has some metal crosses that represent the Via Crucis of Christ, there is a small circuit with medium-sized ornamental trees, this site adjoins the parish house. The other door that is on the left side of the church leads to a small space without a roof and with a closed warehouse; I saw a small bathroom, some ornamental plants; In addition, there is a meeting room and I suppose it is also used for catechism. The spaces are fresh, clean and very pleasant, with an aged style that pays tribute to time and is in harmony with the historic center of the El Hatillo Municipality.

En mi visita pude llegar a cada rincón del templo, así como los anexos y alrededores. Estuve en el Altar Mayor donde observé en uno de los laterales otro sagrario, ademá, me impactó el techo de la cúpula sobre el Altar Mayor porque, aunque es de madera, es distinto al resto del techo de toda la Iglesia. La Iglesia tiene algunos vitrales y ventanas que permiten la entrada de la luz natural, también posee luminarias que funcionan con energía eléctrica; aunque en honor a la verdad, en el día y con las tres puertas abiertas (central y las dos laterales) entra bastante claridad. El altar mayor es sencillo, en su pared principal se puede ver un Cristo de madera que preside y vigila toda la nave central de la Iglesia, imposible no verlo al entrar al templo. A los lados de la Cruz dos imágenes montadas en repisas, a la derecha la Virgen de Coromoto, patrona de Venezuela y a la izquierda la patrona del Municipio El Hatillo, Santa Rosalía de Palermo. Parte de la pared de la iglesia está revestida de madera hasta la mitad. En las paredes también hay candelabros e imágenes religiosas como cuadros y figuras. El piso es de baldosa de caico pulido. Me llamó la atención el Coro, su escalera y el techo de madera de toda la Iglesia.

During my visit I was able to reach every corner of the temple, as well as the annexes and surroundings. I was at the High Altar where I observed another tabernacle on one of the sides. In addition, I was struck by the ceiling of the dome over the High Altar because, although it is made of wood, it is different from the rest of the ceiling of the entire Church. The Church has some stained glass windows and windows that allow the entry of natural light, it also has lights that work with electricity; although in honor of the truth, in the day and with the three doors open (central and the two lateral ones) it enters quite clearly. The main altar is simple, on its main wall you can see a wooden Christ that presides over and watches over the entire central nave of the Church, impossible not to see when entering the temple. On the sides of the Cross are two images mounted on shelves, on the right the Virgin of Coromoto, patron saint of Venezuela and on the left the patron saint of the Municipality of El Hatillo, Santa Rosalía de Palermo. Part of the church wall is halfway paneled. On the walls there are also chandeliers and religious images such as paintings and figures. The floor is polished caico tile. The Choir, its staircase and the wooden ceiling of the entire Church caught my attention.

La torre del campanario es relativamente baja, proporcional con la estructura de la pequeña Iglesia. Este templo sagrado es muy bonito y acogedor, tiene poca capacidad porque fue concebido para un pueblo pequeño que, según información recabada, no superaba las 180 familias en 1784. La construcción de esta Iglesia comenzó en el año 1784 y la terminaron dos años después, en 1786.

The bell tower is relatively low, proportional to the structure of the small Church. This sacred temple is very beautiful and cozy, it has little capacity because it was conceived for a small town that, according to information collected, did not exceed 180 families in 1784. The construction of this Church began in 1784 and was completed two years later, in 1786.

Al cierre de esta publicación, debo decir que el casco histórico de El Hatillo es un sitio turístico por excelencia, agradable clima de montaña, con casas viejas pero bien conservadas, muchas de las cuales han sido transformadas en locales comerciales pero manteniendo su fachada original (restauradas), por lo que la iglesia forma parte de la arquitectura colonial que destaca alrededor de la Plaza Bolívar.

Permítanme elevar una oración al cielo por el eterno descanso del alma del sobrino de mi amiga Aída, así como pedirle a Dios consuelo y paz para sus familiares y amigos. Amén.

At the end of this publication, I must say that the historic center of El Hatillo is a tourist site par excellence, pleasant mountain climate, with old but well-preserved houses, many of which have been transformed into commercial premises but maintaining their original facade ( restored), so the church is part of the colonial architecture that stands out around Plaza Bolívar.

Allow me to raise a prayer to heaven for the eternal rest of the soul of my friend Aída's nephew, as well as ask God for comfort and peace for his family and friends. Amen.

_{[ENG] In the upper part, from the entrance of the Church, you can see a wooden beam that crosses and supports part of the structure, which has a phrase that literally says: My house is a house of prayer referring to to the chapter of the Bible when Jesus of Nazareth expels the merchants from the Temple of Jerusalem (Matthew 21:12-16, Luke 19:45-47, John 2:13-16)

I too am surprised that it has a single nave, I think this is the first time that I have seen one. As far as I remember I always see three naves.
