This calls for reflection, because it invites us to imagine a barn with all the comforts and not see it as a place of confinement; that is, the place must be designed as if it were the animal's natural habitat. Feeders, waterers, ventilation, all spaces must meet the needs of the livestock; a responsibility that must be closely monitored by farmers. On the other hand, it is not only a matter of having adequate spaces for the livestock, but also of being vigilant at all times in case of any eventuality that may occur with the animals, which is easier if the Free Stabling technique is followed. Imagine attending to a barn full of livestock, all of them on top of each other; it is simply impossible.
Another important aspect that can be observed as we read on is related to manure and the approach taken to its management. In other words, the book teaches you to see manure not as a problem, but as a resource that farmers can take advantage of. In short, farmers can use manure as high-quality organic fertilizer, which allows them to keep their barns completely clean and thus achieve a fully sustainable production cycle. There are not many theories and complications, but what does stand out are the reference data, graphs, tables, and many images that bring the text to life, all of which leads to a complete understanding of what is written here.
In short, enjoying this work was very enriching. I am certainly not a rancher, nor am I in this world, but I was able to understand many things about it. Animals are living beings and should always be treated with love and great care. En esta caso; la editorial Aedos nos ofrece un libro donde cualquiera de nosotros podrá profundizar en detalle sobre el mundo de la cría de animales; hablamos del libro Estabulación Libre en Ganado Vacuno.
Ahora; para entender un poco sobre el tema, debemos partir de la definición de lo que es la estabulación; y esta no es más que el sitio donde están los animales sin necesidad de que se encuentren al aire libre; por ejemplo dentro de un establo con buenos espacios y distribuciones bien definidas. Los comederos, los bebederos, la ventilación, todos los espacios deben cumplir con las necesidades del ganado; responsabilidad que debe estar bajo la lupa de los ganaderos. Por otra parte; no solo se trata de tener espacios adecuados para el ganado, sino que se debe estar vigilante en todo momento ante cualquier eventualidad que ocurra con los animales; cosa que resulta más fácil si se cumple con la técnica de Estabulación Libre. Imagínense ustedes atender a un establo lleno de ganado y que todos ellos estén uno sobre el otro; Sencillamente es algo imposible.
Otro aspecto importante que se puede obsevar a medida que avanzamos en la lectura; es el relacionado al estiercol y el enfoque que se da para su manejo. Por ejemplo; un toro puede tener una cama profunda, lo que representa un lugar seco y limpio donde puede descansar; esto es importante, porque mantiene al animal con buena salud y lógicamente genera más rentabilidad para el ganadero.Ciertamente; el libro es muy dinámico y didáctico, no existen muchas teorías y complicaciones; pero lo que sí se destacan son datos de referencia, gráficos, tablas y muchas imágenes que le dan vida a todo el texto; todo esto conlleva a un entendimiento total de lo que aquí está escrito.
En definitiva; disfrutar de esta obra fue muy enriquecedora; ciertamente no soy ganadero, ni estoy en este mundo, pero pude comprender muchas cosas al respecto. Los animales son seres vivos y siempre deben ser tratados con amor y con mucho cuidado; además de ello; la técnica presentada en este texto, expresa claramente que si un animal es libre y se puede desenvolver de forma natural en estos espacios; siempre será un animal sano y sumamente productivo.
