The occupant of the house wake suddenly in the middle of the night as she hears noises coming from the kitchen so she quietly gets out of bed and tiptoes down the hallway and pokes her head around the corner.
From her vantage point sees these dark shapes skulking around in her kitchen, knowing full well that they are up to no good.
She calls the police and after some investigation Detectives Buckwheat, Chickpea and Coconut bring in these suspects for a lineup as the victim identifies each one as the perpetrators.
The police reach out to the public with a plea for all witnesses to come forward who can identify these 4 suspects, known local locally as the infamous Fungi family.
Detectives Buckwheat, Chickpea and Coconut also bring in another group of crooks to lineup in the viewing room as they have discovered through the markets, that these guys are accessories to the crime too.
The have identified the one to the left as the brains of the operation and the one on his right as his strongarm man.
They also bring in another suspect, the well known standup man.
Upon closer investigation, they see that the standup man has a lot of dirt of him that they believe that they can use to convict him in the case.
The Detectives have already rounded up this very tight crew of conman and believe that they too had something to do with the break in.
After the lineups, the detective separate each one to see if they will dob each other in, putting them through the wringer and giving them a good shake down before putting them all into the frypan to see who heats up and cracks first.
Not long after, it is obvious that none of them can stand the heat and they all fry
When the grilling has been done the detectives on the case then send them into the general population of the prison to mix in with the flours- a group of notorious flour fiends.
Soon, they are completely mixed up with the flour gang, who are joined with The Garlic, an old salt and flakey onionbits
During this period, the suspects are now charged with the crime of all being so good for your health and mixed together forever.
Not long afterwards, Prison Warden P.L.C Creamy goes around to see them for a visit.
Making sure that the new inmates are settling into prison life with the Chia guards
Making sure that they're all mixing well and no one's being flattened except for the flour gang,
He notes that the Fungi family have taken over the Flour gang, using Strongman, Standupman and their flunkies to keep the flour gang on the bottom.
While the Fungi family sit on top, like the new prison royalty, the brains of the gang is nowhere to be seen.
Satisfied, as he's being paid by the Brains to look the other way, he nods his head as he walks off, knowing that they are all going to be in there 'oven' for quite a while.
Even though they are being experimented upon, atleast they're getting good meals in his prison-
Like this mushroom based, savoury veggie, chia pudding cake, solid looking on the outside and creamy, soft on the inside, just like his ethics.
CASE CLOSED.

Definitely a crime- for someone that is not that in love with mushrooms....unless they are chopped up and very heavily disguised! π€
That's how I feel about tomatoes. Can't handle full slices, but if you chop them up and hide them in salsa then it's all good :)
Mmm salsa...mmmmm Margaritas...mmmmm frozen Pineapple Margaritas...mmmm...
Anyway, sorry as I was saying, Yes I have met a few people who have that same relationship with tomatoes too- which is a a bit of a shame, but not really cause if you can eat them when they are deeep undercover disguise, then you have nothing to worry about.
I'll remember that when I cook you dinner one day! π
I like breakfast for dinner. Maybe French toast omelets and margaritas?
And I LOVE dessert for breakfast! Kahlua/Frangelico/Mango Liqueur/dash of OJ/Dash of coconut cream and blend!
Oh, did I tell you I bought a new mountain bike? (just a cheapy from kmart) and built it yesterday!
Dying to ride it- except I can get the left pedal to screw on...π
Something off with the thread so now have to wait for a week or 2 till the store reopens after lockdown to get the bike mech to have a go too...π
You don't really need the left pedal to ride a mountain bike. Just carry it to the top and coast down.

I was just passing by ... and not witnessing their crimes ... Your Honor, I think these poor fellows are innocent.
I have not met these heroes in our forests, but the one on the right can sometimes be found on the supermarket shelf ... I understand that he is serving his sentence there and will soon be executed like hell (in a hot frying pan). The one on the right looks like Yeringi's brother (Pleurotus eryngii), next to him are the Shiitaki brothers (Lentinus edodes) and the company of skinny Enoki (Flammulina velutipes). Those on the left have covered their heads with black veils and I do not recognize them. Maybe this is Maitaki, but I could be very wrong.
Perhaps I messed up everything in the world, but in any case, I would like to try your dish ... it is a pity that the sentence has already been carried out ...π

Aaahh well, in the bighouse they shall remain for not being cooperative enough and with all of the other charges on them...well they'l be in there for a while too..
Although the Shitake brothers were honest enough about who there were when they were loitering around on the supermarket shelf (they were so loud about it..)
But the other 3- well they were all there, hunched up together, whispering, plotting, planning, making sideways glances at me, trying not to be seen and you know what, I wish I hadn't of seen them.
For as attractive looking at they were- especially the frilly, flowery looking dark brown velvet ones, after getting to know them better over the past few days, I have decided that I really REALLY do not like them- any of them in fact and they can all rot in their separate cells in the freezing box like prison! π€’
... 30 years have passed ... the refrigerator shuddered for the last time and fell silent ... after a while the ice age in a separate box ended ... the black velvet brothers came out of suspended animation one by one ... now the planet was in their power. ..the end of the story ... )))))

So as you can see, I have a love hate relationship with them.
I'll look at them like Octopi- gorgeous, incredible, magical, alien to look at, but I don't want to eat them....π€£

Thankyou @merilin077 . I really enjoyed making it and writing the recipe, but I have decided that I really REALLY don't actually like mushrooms, so I'm giving it away to all of my friends...lol...
