Hi vegan lovers, happy activities for you, healthy greetings and hopefully you will remain a better person in the future. So it is always useful for many people around you.
Maybe some of you will think noodles or pasta, haha you could say this is one of the two, right? However, in our area, we often call it kuetiaw. Kuetiaw itself is a type of noodle which is processed in a similar way to noodles using rice flour without animal ingredients so it is very safe for vegans. Kuetiaw is flat and clear in color, so it is very interesting to look at. Well, because the process of making it from kuetiaw rice flour is a good substitute for rice for our people.
Tiaw cake itself is usually sold wet by people of Chinese descent from our area until now. However, as times change, now there are lots of dried kuetiaw like the one I use. So we have to process this dry cake straight away and it can't be stored for long. Therefore, I deliberately bought a large pack of dry ones yesterday when I visited the mall in my city. Well, it's very difficult to find dry cakes like this on the market. So it can be stored for a long time, besides, if you want to make it later, just process it as you like. Well, usually this Tiaw cake is prepared by adding eggs or something similar. However, I will make it different, with a simple preparation that I often call kuetiaw Belacan. Unfortunately, this time I'm just manipulative with the Belacan because the Belacan isn't vegan.
Tiaw Belacan cake is a simple preparation, to which I add my special spicy spices. As well as adding kale and cabbage as supporting ingredients in preparing this kuetiaw. Actually, this is the kw version of kuetiaw because the use of non-vegan ingredients such as shrimp paste in the Belacan noodles is important. However, I skipped this ingredient by replacing it with other ingredients used. I thought this wouldn't be bad, after all balacan noodles usually always use kale.
Materials Used
1 small bunch of kale leaves
3 cabbage leaves
1 tomato
Ground Spices
4 red chilies
9 cloves of shallots
1 clove of garlic
1 candlenut
Cooking Procedure
In making dry tiaw cakes, I first prepare the cakes first, then I boil water in a pan until it boils.
Add 1 piece of dried kuetiaw into a pan of water, then boil for approximately 3 minutes.
After 3 minutes, remove and drain the kuetiaw, so that it doesn't stick here, I add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, stir until evenly distributed.
Next, prepare the cabbage, cut into small pieces.
Next, prepare the kale, then pick the kale by just taking the leaves.
After all the vegetables have been cut, continue cutting the tomatoes according to taste. Then wash the vegetables until clean.
Then prepare the ground spices, cut the ingredients into small pieces, then put them in a blender and add enough water.
Blend until smooth. So make sure there are no dried chili seeds left behind.
Saute the ground spices, with a little oil, stir-fry briefly.
Then add the tomato pieces and add a little water.
Then after the water boils, add the cabbage pieces, cook briefly and leave.
Next, add the kale leaves and let all the vegetables soften.
Season with salt and let the mushroom stock simmer until the water has reduced.
Then finally add the kuetiaw, stir until evenly mixed until the kuetiaw is completely absorbed.
Results
Now the vegan version of Kuetiaw Belacan is ready to be enjoyed, serve it warm for better taste quality. The soft chewy kuetiaw provided one better surprise today. And the savory spicy taste really makes my tongue feel the sensation of these noodles differently when made with vegan ingredients.

Usually kuetiaw is synonymous with adding eggs. but you don't need to doubt the taste, just add vegetables and the taste is also tempting.
I'll try it another time sis😊
