Waking up in the morning is one of my favourite things; not waking up would mean I was dead so I figure I'll wake up each day for as long as I can. And be grateful for it.
Coffee is another morning favourite but it pales into insignificance when compared to the enjoyment of spending time with my cat Cleo in the morning -That's her above this morning. She's always snuggly but in the morning loves to sit with me and either rests her chin and head on my arm or, demands kisses or, as with today, moves close until I cup her head with my hand.
She makes me very happy and I feel fortunate and grateful to have such a lovely little cat in my life.
What do you feel grateful for in the morning? Feel free to comment below and let me know.

Those cat-snuggle moments are the best thing, truly something to be grateful for.
I'm grateful that each morning I wake beside a man who cares so much for me, is polite and kind, gentle and chivalrous and also makes me feel so safe because he's so capable. I'm also grateful when he makes dinner although it's not often enough. I can't have it all I suppose.

Clearly you've had some and know what's up.
As for the rest, I get the feeling your man would, and does, say the same or similar in reverse.
I also am grateful for my furry friends, tonight they slept all night with me, one in the feet zone and the other in the back, as soon as I woke up they did too and followed me to the kitchen, then to the bathroom, more like dogs than cats
I'm grateful it's still an holidays day and that food is not missing at home, while we can still do a restaurant stop from time to time or do the holidays at some place, also to have family to celebrate the red days like Christmas and Easter
Cats are the best man, such personalities huh?
Me too!
Although it's going to be 42 degrees tomorrow...and I have to go to hospital and get two needles in my spine. If you never hear from me again I either melted from the heat or died getting my back pierced.
(I won't die for long...I always come back.)
Needle in spine always give me chills just at thinking it... They wanted to do spinal anesthesia a few times and I refused, general only... Good luck with that matter
I'm not looking forward to it to be honest, they told me it'll be agonising at first and then later on the pain will go away. It's ultrasound guided so I hope they know what the fuck they're doing and don't put it in the wrong spots.
Can't they do some sort of gas anesthesia? To stone you a bit? Eco guided should reduce mistakes but still... I hope the results will be fine
No apparently not. They say there's a local anaesthetic in the actual injection but, of course, that will go in after the actual needle goes in. They told me I'd not need someone to drive me home when it was first booked in and now they say I have to have someone to drive me home. There's no one available though so looks like I'll drive myself. Fucken incompetent wankers.
After... Makes lot of sense 😐
I see the incompetence is not only here in the state workers, they expect you and all your relatives to be always available, because you know other people don't work nor have their own life
The feeling I have when I open my eyes, stretch out on the bed, and put my arm around my partner.
Especially on weekends, when we wake up a little later and can stay in bed a little longer.
Arm around, then... 😶
And, after "then", straight under the warm shower 😊
That's how it's done.
Naww snuggle XD Pat her for me please :D
Waking up daily is very convenient. Much less confusing than waking up two days later which I have done once before and already don't recommend so I think waking up after a much longer period would be worse again, but probably not quite as bad as never waking up again.
She's a good snuggler, one of my favourite things to do.
I've slept through a night and day and most of the way into the next night...it's a weird feeling to wake up and have absolutely no idea what day it is.
Still, I'd rather that than not waking up at all.
Did you pull one too many all nighters too? I genuinely thought my housemates were trying to prank me when they told me I'd been asleep for over 24 hours XD
I'd not slept for almost 48 hours and finally made it to a position in which I was able to...I was a bit battered and bruised, feeling rather second hand actually, but I slept the sleep of the dead...until I woke up. It was good, but I was very disoriented afterwards.
24 hours is a long time to sleep, long enough for you to be a little out of whack from a timing perspective. I flew from Helsinki to London, to Singapore and Adelaide once with only changes of planes in between. Very little sleep. When I got inside my house I was pretty brain dead. 36 hours awake, multiple time zones. Messed me up.
Oh my gosh that's insane :O and at least a much more legit and sensible reason than me staying up for a week straight basically to see how long I could stay awake for x_x pretty sure I gave myself (more) brain damage doing that (to add to any that might have happened when I fell on my head).
Bet you were glad to see your bed (for about a second before you fell into it XD)!
Haha, well I guess it's something you only had to do once to see how it went...not too well is the answer. And yeah, it was amazing to sink into my own bed...although I waited I til later in the evening (was morning) to try and mitigate the jet lag time difference thing. Sort of worked.
I am grateful in the mornings for breathing, for hearing my heart later, for seeing and hearing, for thinking and feeling, for my cats, my family, for love, for the smell of breakfast, for having legs that carry me up and for my hands that work.
Breathing is a pretty good thing, not breathing isn't much fun at all, especially if it continues for more than a couple of minutes.
We can risk getting out of here, better not to try.
She's really cute and sounds like a joy to have. When I read having her overshadowed the joy of having coffee, I felt she was really special to you.
One thing I'm grateful for is the change I'm certain I can create in the society, even on a small scale. Like change people's lives for the better, make problems disappear, ease up their burdens. I'm doing that now small-time, but the plans to take it up to a grander level are being formed.
Few things give me more satisfaction than to be the reason someone's life's better.
You're grateful for a thing that hasn't happened yet? Interesting.
I hope you're also grateful for the things that are currently occurring in your life as well, that's something I feel will improve life generally.
Although I honestly despise getting up early to exercise, my days always seem to go a bit better when I do it.
That's the way to go, and being grateful for the fact you've woken up and have the ability to exercise is probably valid I'd say.
In the morning when I wake up, I feel grateful simply to be alive and healthy. Perform my morning Prayer, and thank God for another day to enjoy the blessings He has given me,and get to see my loved ones especially my little princess and share life with them.

Being alive is certainly something to be grateful for.
