I'm not able to count the number of aircraft in which I've flown including fixed wing and other aircraft like helicopters. I've been around a bit and spent a fair amount of time in the air for various reasons.
At times I've had the luxury of time to look outside and enjoy the view and on those occasions have usually tried to take a photo of what's out the window; due to being a terrible photographer those photos have been reasonably average however I keep trying.
Recently, I flew home from a location in New South Wales, Australia on a day flight and looked out the window to see...well, you can see what I saw in the image above.
Some of that white stuff is clouds but some is snow-covered mountains, something that only happens in a few parts of Australia. I'm not exactly certain where those mountains were but am pretty sure it was the Snowy Mountains in Kosciuszko National Park, home of our tallest mainland peak, Mount Kosciuszko, 2228 metres above sea level.
Have you flown much and if so where have you been. Also, do you have any photos you've taken from the window of an aircraft? If you have, and want to share, drop them into the comments below.

I've flown out to Vegas a few times and I have gotten some decent photos from there. My wife doesn't like to be by the window, but I usually try to get that seat for myself.
I prefer the aisle myself, but often have no one sitting beside me so I get all the seats; it's a good situation. That second shot is a good one. I've never had a desire to go to Vegas, not sure why...probably because there's always someone higher on the priority list to go.
Wow, part of what I hate about flying is how they cram as many people as possible into the planes. Having a whole row would be heaven! I've been to Vegas three times now and besides the fact that I want to see "the sphere", I don't know if I would go back. This last time we spent more of our time outside the city driving around the dessert and I preferred that over gambling by a long shot!
I like the first photo! :)
This is Cotopaxi in 2022. It was throwing ashes, and you can see in which direction the wind blew the ashes. That day, it wasn't, which was good as I was flying to see my daughter.
I've flown a lot. Surprisingly, most trips where within Ecuador, travelling south to Lily. At first, I could afford only the 25$ bus ticket, 16h hard ride. Then the $45 bus tickets where you have a bed. And then, finally, the $80 plane ticket to Catamayo. That was a total trip of 7h, but during the day. Each had it's perks.
There are the big trips back to Germany, of course. Going in December again. around 18h total trip - around the world is almost faster than going through Ecuador by bus.
Cool shot man...although you might have got some better ones had the plan passed almost right over it when it was erupting. Oh well, maybe next time. Lol.
This is pretty much how I imagined it to be. Good luck.
Yeah, next time I'll ask the pilot to fly a little closer so I can get a better shot for my online community. Pretty sure they'll do it.
Yep, that's the spirit, anything for that perfect Instagram shot.
I have been starting fly in late stage of my life, like from 2014 and only for holidays but I had to stop with covid and now kid... In total it was 7 trips back and forth, but I never took pictures, phone camera was crap back then and I just turned if off when plane take off... In fact I used a photo camera to take 90% of pics back then
Probably a good thing, they say it effects the navigational systems but I think that's just a lie to get people to turn off their phones...although there was this one time I was headed to Paris and ended up in Namibia. I wasn't happy because Namibia is shite...I started turning my phone of from then. 😁
Haha no one would be happy to end up there 😂 yea they even say use plane mode but I wanted be 100% sure to be fine
Best to be sure, no fucker wants to end up in Namibia twice in one lifetime, especially me.
Or you can try the Lotto and see what the next random location will be, maybe Maldives!
That's quite true...one never knows, the accidental location may be somewhere good. I put my phone on flight mode now though, just too fearful of ending up in that shithole Namibia again. Maldives would be good though.
From May to August I had several flights (4), to Albania and Podgorica. All flights to Albania were during the day, and he returned from Podgorica at night. I also sat next to the window (but also in the middle), so I managed to take some pictures...
And I packed the best here

Good snaps there, I like the clouds. How good are clouds huh?
Thanks 🙂
Whiteness, when they are dense and when you are above them, they seem enchanting.
I also had one post with pictures without color🙂

I prefer aisle seats these days.. But back in my younger days, I took this while on a flight from US to Mexico!
They're some mountains huh? Good photo. I prefer the aisle also, I don't know why...maybe because the air hostesses always seem to rub their good bits on me as they pass by or lean in to give me my coffee. 😶
Lol what did I just read? o.O
Yeah mountains! I was pleasantly surprised I could capture the terrain so clearly during the flight.
I see a lot about the life you live is really fun when on vacation or traveling. But after I read a few words maybe you are a great person and have great experience sometimes many people want to be like you but all that is impossible because of a great person like you I hope your trip is fun and you arrive at your destination.
There's only one of me, the world doesn't need a second.
Loving the aerial shots! Capture Australia's vast beauty.
For sure. Huzzah!
