Splinterlands And The Marketing Of Hive

Splinterlands is getting a great deal of attention. We all should be excited about that on Hive even if we do not play the game nor invested in it. Anything that happens on the blockchain from the layer 2 applications will end up helping the base coin.

In this video I discuss how the idea of makreting a backend never made a lot of sense to me. It is the features and functions that attracts users. Splinterlands is showing what can happen when an application hits its core market.

This is so true.
The early people were tech based and can't seem to be able to drop that.

You have to market the front-end.
No one knows how their phone works, why would they care how the blockchain works.

:)

For mass option I still feel we will need to be able to hide wallets/keys from regular users.

Most people just/only want to use things, they do not care about how things works. And this is completely fine.

I agree its fine.
My point is we will see even bigger adoption when we can hide more of the blockchain from them.

SPS airdrop gains are nothing short of insane. All that time & money invested is paying off now. I'm at least earnings $100 daily.

Splinterlands NFTs & Tokens have bigger marketcap than Hive! I think you did talk about possibilities like this. I've been a long time reader for years.

You nailed it TBH. A Dapp is finally 2X the marketcap of chain it's built on. Wonder what we'd see with https://spk.network

I'm at least earnings $100 daily.

That is crazy/insane, man. My pension-like income is approximately $250 USD per month.

It's all because I invested a lot of what I could afford into the game over 2 years. Most of my Steem power down went into Splinterlands too. All that faith in game and money and hundreds (probably 1000+ hours) sunk into game is finally paying off.

I'm kind of in the middle here. I'm like a Dolphin in the game. Whales are easily getting over few $1000

That is understandable. Only the financial discrimination is unfair in my country (Hungary).

Thank you for the pizza. I also give you some !PIZZA.

What matter is we keep fighting. I don't have much of a life outside of crypto and I've given up all the "fun" stuff my peers seem to be doing. I even botched my education getting into research etc. I'm betting hard on this. Government is messing up economy and vaccination troubles in my country. I expect all the effort to be worth it at the end.

Hope the best for you buddy :)
Life is tough 💪

I haven't even watched the video yet and I can tell you're hitting the nail on the head.

It's simple,

The mass don't want to deal with the hassle they just want to enjoy a product

They don't want to know about the sausage, they just want to eat the damn thing

I don’t play Splinterlands, nor am I invested in it (perhaps I’m silly for that second one)... I still LOVE Splinterlands. Not only for the fact that they are helping Hive out tremendously, but also for the cool art style and overall concept.

Absolutely. The backend will never draw in that kind of user base. The front end always will. That just shows how good the backed really is.

Anything that happens on the blockchain from the layer 2 applications will end up helping the base coin.

Exactly and the strength of Hive will grow more and more with the increase of projects and apps that will be born or that are already there but have potential and will explode in the future.

Hey @taskmaster4450, here is a little bit of BEER from @libertycrypto27 for you. Enjoy it!

Learn how to earn FREE BEER each day by staking your BEER.

It's been awesome and a top news headline for a few days so far. Bringing in so much value for Hive and exposure.

There is also MuTerra which I think will do well in the coming days/weeks. It picked its launch date the same as splinterlands so could have caused a bit if a conflict. But all packs sold out in 2 hrs I believe

The new app creation on the layer 2 is the marketing. Games, tribes, outposts, social networks, defi, nfts and all of these other things provide not only VALUE to hives blockchain but they each act as a marketing front for hive. The coolest thing is once one of these gets attention it's the community that promotes it and guess what it's FREE and its FAR more powerful. You can't go stuffing crap down someones throat and expect them to buy in lol.

I love quotes so take this one...

Quote"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value"

In this case replace man with blockchain and you have a winner!

I like playing splinterland a lot , but where can find the sps airdrop ? Thx

I have no intention of playing Splinterlands, I never have. But I noticed that SPT was .0005 a token, and I logged into Splintertalk.io and checked out the layout, and said @ .0005 SPT is extremely undervalued, I did stop stacking SPT because Ive been buying Leo Miners and NFT's with my Hive Token investments, and had no buzz or rumour about the airdrop and 250,000 was going to be my minimum long term SPT stacking goal, at .0005 I could have accomplished that real quick but with Hive at a discount I wanted to squeeze as many Leo Miners and NFT's as I could and I put SPT was on hold, but I stacked 150,000 at .0005!!! well before the air drop! I was on Twitter calling SPT the Doge coin of Hive before the AD announcement, The rise of SPT is the biggest story of the year in my opinion. I forgot I could curate with my SPT stack, and been upvoting Splinter Talk exclusively this week, its been an incredible experience. Im still buying SPT, I sold my SPS and bought more SPT while it was at .01 Hive. Let's think big, SPT will be 1 for 1 with Hive! SPT has out performed any Leo token investment, let's see SPT worth more than 1 Leo!!! What an exciting week!

I just tried playing splinterlands for the first time and it just kept crashing in firefox no matter what i did. Once i chose a team and started a 'battle' it crashed every time. I appreciate this isn't a bug report form, but just pointing out that this is happening.

Summary:
In this video, the speaker discusses the increasing attention that Hive is receiving through the platform Splinterlands. He touches on the misconception of Hive being mainly a blogging platform and emphasizes its potential as a base layer and digital ledger. The speaker highlights the need to promote the various applications tied to Hive, such as Splinterlands, to attract more users and developers to the ecosystem. By driving success to applications like Splinterlands, it can benefit the entire Hive community through increased activity, account sign-ups, and ultimately impacting the price of Hive.

Detailed Article:
The speaker begins by addressing the shift in attention towards Hive due to Splinterlands, shedding light on the misconception that Hive is primarily a blogging platform. He points out that Hive serves as a backend, base layer, and digital ledger, highlighting its potential beyond just blogging. The speaker argues that serious bloggers are a small percentage of internet users, making blogging a less attractive feature for mainstream internet users. He compares Hive to Amazon Web Services, emphasizing that users care more about the functionality of applications rather than the platform they run on.

The discussion delves into the importance of scalability, three-second block time, and fee-less transactions for developers in attracting users to their applications. The speaker emphasizes the benefits Hive offers developers in terms of upvote capabilities and low transaction costs compared to platforms like Ethereum. The interconnected nature of various Hive-based applications through keys and extensions like Hive Signer or Keychain is highlighted as a significant advantage for users.

Splinterlands is portrayed as a prime example of a successful Hive-based application driving user sign-ups and activity. The speaker urges the Hive community to promote Splinterlands across various social media platforms, emphasizing that the success of one application can benefit the entire ecosystem. This communal effort is seen as a way to increase Hive account sign-ups, activities, transactions, and potentially impact the price of Hive.

Furthermore, the speaker stresses the importance of niche targeting and diversification of applications on the Hive platform. By promoting applications catering to various interests such as photography, finance, gaming, and more, the Hive ecosystem can expand horizontally, attracting a more diverse user base. The potential for breakthrough applications to drive attention and growth within the ecosystem is highlighted, positioning them as essential for the overall success of Hive.

In conclusion, the speaker emphasizes the interconnected nature of applications within the Hive ecosystem and encourages community members to promote and support each other's projects. By driving success to various applications like Splinterlands, Hive can attract more users, developers, and ultimately thrive as a robust ecosystem.
