@starkerz you hit the nail on the head! Hive has a hard time spreading as a lot of Hivers are creating perpetual echo chambers by mostly only posting on Hive and often about Hive. This brings little value to the chain as their posts rarely rank well on SERPs and have quite a difficult time reaching an audience to then later onboard to Hive.
By tapping into an already established community such as Axie that already has developed a huge interest in the underlying product, and giving the people what they want (Axie content, contests/giveaways/scholarships) any Hiver has a massive opportunity to build a brand while providing immense value to Hive in form of much-needed traffic and new users.
That's something I've always wanted to do as I've noticed how only a rare few Hivers on Twitter can do anything meaningful in this regard as all they ever talk about is Hive, again creating echo chambers and never really reaching people outside of the Hive bubble.
Stepping outside of the bubble, providing value to the specific target audience, and then drawing them into our little bubble, is the way imho.
With all that said, Axie Buzz is just the starting point of a much grander plan I've got for the future. If all goes well and I'm able to prove the value of this concept, I'll pivot to a more all-encompassing project that'll be able to attract users from many different crypto sub-communities.
Agreed! This is why I'm pushing so hard to put Hive into Podcasting 2.0 with @v4vapp. Don't forget to vote on the proposal!

You said there was a ton of different sources that are similar to podcast index/podfriend.. exactly how many of them are there? I was only able to find 3 sites where I could put my hive username in, and find my 3speak podcasts

Also I'm working with 3speak on an addition to their back end which will allow you to set the title and image for your podcast and some other key details like language and iTunes category. That will let you submit your own show to Apple.

You'll notice you'll be shown an email which for you will be [email protected] -> That email will come to you as an encrypted message on Hive. Use PeakD and HiveKeychain and you'll be able to read the email (you'll have to copy paste a URL link).
This is all early days. I could have sat in the back and developed this and revealed it all when it was finished (it'll never be "finished) or just push it out and let people who want to experiment. That's more fun!

Yes. We struggle in the echo chamber for sure. It’s about finding a way to leverage hive web3 tools to provide value. We can’t wait u til SPK network gives members like u the tools to set this up with its own front end, it’s own token and it’s own content hosting system connected to hive. Will be super cool times ahead. And as u perfect this model in our experience, as long as u hold a few hands and document the process well others on hive will take inspiration and follow ur example by replicating similar communities. Please keep us posted as u find out about them, Dan and I want to support them if they show they are gaining traction
Can't wait for SPK to come out as AB desperately needs its front-end/token to provide a more user-friendly experience with Twitter login and easy-to-use and understand interface. In the meantime, while I wait for SPK to come out, I'll keep perfecting my game on Twitter and garnering a huge community to onboard to Hive. If anyone approaches me, I'll be happy to share my playbook and inform them about what I think is the best way to leverage traditional social media in order to onboard new users to Hive. Sure, if I see any new promising communities pop up, I'll let you guys know.
This is the way. You're adding huge value; really, you're adding the value of a whole marketing team yourself. And really, this place thrives off of diversity of content. There should be thousands of communities, each with their own community and community skin-in-the-game approaches where people promote without promoting. FB, Twitter all the rest never ran commercials (at least I never saw any), yet they get shared for "free" every minute of every day. That is because content is king, and if you can provide a way to give various niche communities value by coming to Hive, they start promoting Hive without evening thinking about it.

You're right! The best promotion is free promotion but organic results are quite hard to acquire on trad social media as these platforms want to drive users into spending for ad space by reducing their reach. This can be solved by tapping into hype trains like Axie but Axie is far from being the only hype train out there rn. It might be the mightiest one, but it's far from being the only one. I'd like to see other Hivers do the same for other crypto communities as there is so much untapped potential here.
We should hammer this mentality (searching for users outward instead of inward) into Hive's community culture as most are still stuck at trying to attract Hivers instead of new users.
It might be a good idea to provide some result-based incentives to make this happen quicker. I don't need them as seeing Hive prosper is more than enough for me but others might be more inclined to go down this route if they were incentivized. Because to do this well, and on a grander level, community owners need to put in a lot of time and effort which without proper incentive, most won't be willing to do.
If we wait for this to materialize organically we might be retarding Hive's growth and missing out on a lot of potential growth. Figuring out a decent incentive structure could be the steroids we need to make Hive grow faster.

I'm glad you guys are listening to the core dev meetings 😄 I always wonder if the outreach is worth the trouble or not, realistically speaking a lot of those discussions could be happening offline in an async way and be more efficient but I like to think that it offers some transparency as to how things are happening.
