Summary of what I learnt from the teachings of Bro Eli Soriano
I learnt that we should believe not every spirit, and we should check every spirit if they are of God
1 John 4 vs 1
I learnt that there are false prophets, written 2000 years ago in the bible, and these false prophets are around us, so we should adhere to the true teachings or doctrines of Christ
2 Peter 2 vs 1
I learnt that we should compare one thing with another to check which is true, not to attack anyone but to make comparison and know which is true, that is knowing what is good and abstaining from evil
Ecclesiastes 7 vs 27, 1 Thessalonians 5 vs 21-22
I learnt that how to call upon God is by praying for which is one of the doctrines of Christ, for praying is a commandment from God, and there are people that pray in vain for God does not hear their prayer's
John 9 vs 31
I learnt that the prayer or sacrifice of a sinner is an abomination, but God is delighted in the prayer of an upright man
Proverbs 15 vs 8
I learnt that the right manner of praying which is in accordance to the word of God is to not use vain repeatative words and we should not pray to show off like praying in the Streets just as the hypocrites do, for before we pray,God already knows what we need, and when we pray we should shut the doors and pray in our closet for God that seeth in secret will bless us openly
Matthew 6 vs 6,7 -8
I learnt that God said before we ask anything in he's name he will answer
Isaiah 65 vs 24
I learnt that our prayers should be brief and straight to the point, that is asking God what will need for that particular time, and to never to use vain repeatative words for it is prohibited
Ecclesiastes 5 vs 1-2
I learnt that before we pray we should forgive all those who offended us so that our heavenly father can forgive us too
Mark 11 vs 25
I learnt that it is right for us to kneel down or bow down and worship God when praying, that is facing horizontally and not vertically when praying, for this is the way Christ prayed
Acts 20 vs 36, Matthew 26 vs 39, Psalm 95 vs 6
I learnt that a woman should cover her hair when praying and a man should be uncovered when praying, for if a woman does not cover her hair she's dishonouring her head and if a man covers he's head when praying he's dishonouring he's head
1 Corinthians 11 vs 4-5
MY FORMER BELIEF BEFORE THE ZOOM MEETING
- My former belief before the zoom meeting was praying in any pattern is right to God, that is whether lying down or standing or bowing or sitting
- My former belief before the zoom meeting was whether a lady covers her head or not God hears her prayers,so long as it is coming from the heart
WAYS IN WHICH THE ZOOM MEETING AFFECTED MY DAILY LIFE
- knowing that it is right and biblical for a lady to cover her hair when praying
- It is right to bown down or kneel down when praying
- It right to settle with our brothers or sisters who offended us before we pray
