Romania is a very beautiful country. Mostly known for its rustic appeal, our country is filled with places where nature is still a queen among people. Where you can see untamed places and see how people used to live many years ago.

The Natural Reserve Piatra Cetii has a big diversity of flowers, plants and insects. The highest point is the Piatra Cetii peak, of 1233 meters. It is situated in Alba County and it spreads over 75 ha. It is the home of a very rare endangered flower called Queen's Flower, Leontopodium alpinum. You can do some hiking here and forget about city life.

You need a 4x4 here in order to explore this at its best. The roads are pretty rough and in the summer it's the easiest to travel.
If you don't know this about me already, I have a soft spot for wooden houses. You will be able to observe quite many of these throughout your visit. Romanian people used to live in this kind of places and some of the elderly still do.

It is a place full of vegetation. In the summer it is a pure joy to go and admire nature's wonders. The wild flowers. The butterflies and all the insects roaming around. It is indeed a place untouched by modernity.

I only found it appropiate to submerge myself in a pile of grass and sniff the flowers. With all the allergy in the world I couldn't care less.

I had the pleasure of traveling in Romania for ten day a couple of years ago, your country is beautiful in so many ways... I was impressed by so many places, probably the most amazing of them for me was Salina Turda...
Oh yes, a lovely place is Salina Turda. Is so modernised now. You could sit there and breath salty air for hours. Nature does wonders doesn't it? 😊

In a few decades we might all rush towards such a living. I sometimes envy those who are away from the civilized world but, can't say that I'm fully prepared to make that move tomorrow... Great pics by the way.
I would love living like this, I seriously consider it. As long as you can have access to all the good modern stuff and a way to sustain yourself.... I would pick living in such location over any fancy house in the middle of the town. I came to value more peace, nature and secluded places as I grew older. I especially like these type of places because there aren't many people. I am not a people person. I prefer fewer people with more quality in their character.
