My app "Clear outside" had already told me the day before that there would not be many clouds for a beautiful sunrise, but after I definitely wanted to go to the Lake Bohinj, I was hoping that the app would be wrong. | Dass es nicht viele Wolken für einen wunderschönen Sonnenaufgang geben würde, das hatte mir meine App "Clear outside" bereits am Vortag gesagt, aber nachdem ich in jedem Fall zum Wocheiner See fahren wollte, hoffte ich natürlich darauf, dass sich die App irrt. |
When I arrived at the lake at 6 a.m., it looked at first as if the app had actually been wrong, because the sky was full of cumulus clouds (I believe this cloud shape is called Altocumulus), which were moving from northwest over the lake. However, just while the sun rose higher behind the horizon and these clouds have caught some morning color, unfortunately they moved to the right out of sight pretty quickly and also they faded. | Als ich um 6 Uhr früh am See angekommen bin, hat es zuerst ganz danach ausgeschaut, als ob sich die App tatsächlich geirrt hätte, denn der Himmel war voll von Cumuluswolken (ich glaube man nennt diese Wolkenform Altocumulus), welche von Nordwest über den See gezogen sind. So wie die Sonne jedoch hinter dem Horizont höher gestiegen ist und diese Wolken Farbe gefangen haben, sind sie leider ziemlich schnell nach rechts außer Sicht weitergezogen und auch verblasst. |

Pokljuka Gorge
Pokljuška soteska
The Pokljuka Gorge is a so-called "dry gorge" and I would not really recommend it in winter because really everything is dry. In spring, when the plants grow again and everything is green, I will certainly hike through this gorge again. Now in winter it presents itself rather bleak and especially the first few hundred meters are more like a bad forest road. | Die Pokljuka Schlucht ist eine sogenannte "trockene Schlucht" und ich würde sie im Winter nicht wirklich empfehlen, weil wirklich alles trocken ist. Im Frühjahr, wenn die Pflanzen wieder wachsen und alles grün ist, werde ich aber sicherlich nochmals durch diese Schlucht wandern. Jetzt im Winter präsentiert sie sich eher trostlos und speziell die ersten paar hundert Meter gleichen eher einem schlechten Forstweg. |
The about 2 km long gorge is the largest fossil gorge in Slovenia and was created by the fact that a stream has withdrawn into the depths after the end of the last ice age. | Die etwa 2 Kilometer lange Schlucht ist die größte Fossil Schlucht in Slowenien und dadurch entstanden, dass sich ein Strom nach dem Ende der letzten Eiszeit in die Tiefe zurückgezogen hat. |

Burned-down Radovna
Radovna Valley
Between Krnica near Bled and Mojstrana in the north is the Radovna Valley, a cultural heritage with some interesting sights and the last remains of the ruins of the burned-down village of Radovna. | Zwischen Krnica in der Nähe von Bled und Mojstrana im Norden liegt das Kulturerbe Radovna Tal mit einigen interessanten Sehenswürdigkeiten und auch den letzten Resten der Ruinen des verbrannten Dorfes Radovna. |
During the Second World War, the residents of Radovna supported the resistance movement against the German occupying powers, also with a courier route leading to Carinthia from the village of Radovna. Luckily stone doesn’t burn and that part of the building stands as a memorial.

It will be interesting to see in the summer months, during winter one would see more of the rock formation, through fossil trail possible sighting of something unusual could be greater opportunity.

That's true, now you can see more of the rock faces and such, but now there's such a mess around on the ground and the trees don't look good in my eyes... let's see how the green images look in a few weeks ;)

A very nice hike and pictures, at first I did not even notice the "bridge" but then I zoomed around an saw it. and what a tight looking ladder/steps climb that looked like in the next picture.
Ha, I thought so and that was my reason to add the cropped photo too ;)
The gorge after the ladder is quite narrow, but not very long. I wanted to take photos in there, but it was too dangerous, because while I was taking that one poto a stone fell down about 2 meters in front of me. So I just rushed rather fast through that part of the gorge ;)
When I'll go there again in Spring I will know better what and where to take photos, and I think everything will look better by then.

Guten Morgen Peter,
die Schneerosen findest du in dieser Gegend in Massen. Ich habe auch schon Veilchen gesehen und glaube jetzt, dass der Winter wirklich schon vorbei ist, bevor er angefangen hat.
In diese Schlucht wollte ich schon lange mal und werde sicher in ein paar Wochen wieder dorthin fahren, wenn alles wieder wächst und grünt. So war es zwar imposant, aber irgendwie trostlos.

Mit trostlos meinte ich ja nur, dass nichts grün war oder geblüht hat, Äste blattlos waren, das Moos auf Felsen und Bäumen trocken und ausgedörrt und so weiter. Ansonsten war es natürlich super, denn außer mir war niemand weit und breit und ich konnte alles genießen 🙂
Trotzdem freue ich mich jetzt auf den Frühling :)

Der kommt in großen Schritten. So wie bei uns schon vorzeitig der Herbst eingekehrt ist. Die Blätter zeigen Verfärbungen usw.
Am besten kann ich es am Cannabis erkennen der je weiter wir in den Herbst gehen um so mehr blüht.

I thought it would look even busier in the springtime. But what do I know? lol.
Yes, busier because there will be more tourists, but there are not many tourists in this gorge, because it is not that easy to find ;)
And busier because there are more plants and such, but now in the wintertime it is all dry and nothing is growing. I would prefer some shrubs or bushes and leaves on the trees insted of the naked rock faces ... we'll see in a few weeks :)

Pokljuka Hole looks amazing, but if the only way to get there is on that almost 100 years old wooden bridge, then I am not sure if I would go there.

No, you don't need to use that bridge, because the hole is on another path which I used on my way back, but you may be sure, that they have renewed that bridge in the meantime - I haven't been afraid to use it ;)

Could you please tell me why the link to my post at travelfeed.io shows a 404 page? Even when I try to open my post directly at travelfeed.io this 404 is shown.
