Trip Extras - Porto Portugal

in TravelFeed2 years ago

I take a lot of photos on vacation, as you can imagine, too many in some cases. Naturally not all of them make it to my main destination posts.

20220510_112010~2.jpg

These are basically the leftovers from our Porto Portugal trip that didn't make the cut. Some are similar to others that I posted, just from a slightly different angle or from an alternate camera lens (I often take the same photo from at least two different lenses - wide and normal). I've been trying to refrain from posting a photo and then another one zoomed in a little.

Anyway, I'm going to keep the commentary to a minimum since I've already done a main post on this location and leave this one as a photo dump of sorts.

That way you can just scroll through if you're interested in seeing more from the location without being bogged down with verbage.

Lets begin.

Views and Cityscapes

These shots came from different parts of the city at different times of day.

Luis I Bridge

Luis I Bridge was sort of a focal point of the city.

20220510_152708~2.jpg

It was in view from many parts of the old town.

20220510_152540~2.jpg

Seeing it from different angles from different nooks and crannies and neighborhoods was pretty neat actually.

Streets and Row Houses

I generally like banks of row houses. Building styles and designs always add a lot of character to any place you visit.

20220510_114909~2.jpg

The building facades in Porto were especially colorful, lively and full of character.

Same building- different angle. It's a theme really.

More Azulejos (below). And look at that green. So bright. Neon almost.

Clerigos Church Tower

The Clerigos church tower could be seen from many parts of the city as well and it appears in a few cityscapes above.

20220510_125436~2.jpg

Here are a few shots of it a little closer up.

20220510_122920~2.jpg

These two are almost the same. I likely took one photo and then took 10 steps forward and took another. That's pretty normal for me.

Other stuff to look at

20220510_155528~2.jpg

This is one of the nicest looking Macdonalds I've ever seen, aside from one I saw in Freiburg Germany a year back.

20220510_161453~2.jpg

A random church. There's so many of them in the city.

20220510_152454~2.jpg

Monastery of Serra do Pilar from across the river (above).

20220510_151306~2.jpg

Porto Cathedral in the distance.

20220510_154818-01~2.jpeg

Market building with lawn. This reminded me of a college campus with students sitting out in the grass. You almost wouldn't think that this spot was in the heart of a major city.

20220510_152043~2.jpg

Old city wall.

20220510_161255~2.jpg

I really liked this steep staircase.

20220510_163947~2.jpg

And lastly, a park we walked through near the church tower.

Well thats it for now. If you are interested in seeing more of our trip to Portugal than stay tuned, theres more to come. Until next time, thanks for stopping by.

Lovely photos that are indeed too good to not share.

Yes, that's a different, and the most beautiful McDonald's that I've ever seen too, I wonder if the food was superior in taste too...

Did you know that all McDonald's are not equal?
...if you don't believe, take a trip to the Philippines, and enter the McDonalds in Moalboal...I get the feeling there might be reviews online about it... 😶

I wonder if the food was superior in taste too...

My guess is that it's about the same food as most other locations haha

I know that the menus are always a little different in each country to suit the local taste, and the ingredient supplies I'm sure. I'd imagine that there are some pretty terrible ones out there in the world though haha

Did you have a bad experience at the one you are describing?

Did you have a bad experience at the one you are describing?

Haha! "Bad" would be putting it mildly.
They never have lettuce, tomatoes, and many other ingredients...it's a very long wait to get served, and never any muffins for a Mac Muffin, so it's just a burger bun...and the list goes on... maybe no coke, or coffee, but there's always rice available 😏

Haha that doesn't sound good at all. Definitely not a glowing recommendation lol

I take a million pics too. These are excellent. That McDonald's is there best looking one I have seen!!

Yeah that was a good one for sure. We didn't go inside but definitely a cool building on the outside.

I wouldn't have sent inside myself. It works have been the same dismal interior no doubt at every other one!

Yeah that's true. Same food also haha. Not saying that I never eat at Macdonalds but I don't think I could live with myself if I ate there on a trip to a foreign land when there are so many other foods that I should be trying 😂🤣

Yeah, I am similar. I couldn't imagine being in a foreign country and seeking one out as I know some do!

Yeah, "each to their own" I suppose but I'll save Macdonalds for those last resort, too lazy or no time to cook days or on the road, it's the best option days.

Photo dump? these are great shots, love the houses and backstreets and that Macadees is ACE!!!!!!

Thanks. I'm glad you liked them. Yeah the Macdonalds was a neat building for sure.

Wow, very nice bright photos😍
I dream of visiting this country
