In the second part of my trip to Thailand, I would like to introduce you to my favorite island this journey Koh Phangan and Koh phi phi.

😎
😎

We took the ferry to the island. Everywhere it looks like beach posters. we lived in a small wooden hut right on the beach.  In Thailand, you can still get such accommodation for 10 euros a night.  .

Of course, we borrowed a scooter again and explored the opposite. We drove past a small road that looked very nice, we drove further in, suddenly we saw a sign that said: "Beware of the biting dog". I know it in Germany that some people just hang it up as a deterrent without having a dog. The sign looked a bit rusty and old, so I said to my friend "oh go, there won't be a dog! The road was really really nice to the right and left wide meadows with palm trees and banana plants. After 2 minutes we heard dogs barking and suddenly saw 2 big dogs running towards us from afar. I yelled at my friend to drive back, he turns the scooter as fast as possible." Faaaaster !" I screamed.
The dogs came closer and barked at us all the time. I kept screaming" Driiiiiive , Faaaaaaster!" It probably made my friend even more nervous, but I saw the dogs coming closer and closer to us. The one dog only a meter away from me and my thigh, I thought he would jump up and snap at any moment, but he didn't. He slowed down and let go of us when he saw us leaving "his territory". Normally I'm not afraid of dogs, but that was really a scary situation...I saw myself sitting in the Thai hospital with an open thigh. From now on, I believe the signs hanging somewhere better.😛

We did a couple of snorkeling trips and took the boat out, one is still in my head. After the snorkel we swam through a dark cave, it was really really dark, the guide had a flashlight, otherwise, we wouldn't have seen anything, bats flew around above us. When you were out of the cave ... you were in a kind of gorge. a green overgrown circular gorge, with a small stretch of beach where we arrived. It was such a beautiful place...I'm still annoyed that I didn't have my cell phone with me. Everywhere little monkeys jumped and butterflies as big as birds flew around...it looked like a place from another world! So beautiful. Unfortunately, it was very touristy, because it felt like every boat docked there, but I just lay down in a corner and watched everything. We only had a short stop there and then had to swim back a quarter of an hour, I could have stayed there.

The return journey of these snorkeling trips was a bit bumpy. It had become a bit stormy and the sea was accordingly bumpy. We drove back about an hour after half an hour the first ones started to throw up 🤢 my stomach is also acting crazy but I was just able to control myself .

Yeah a boat trip !
Yeah a boat trip !

We hiked up the highest mountain on the island, the Kao Ra, which was really, really exhausting. My friend, an experienced hiker, was faster and had better physical condition, and I just followed behind.😑 We hiked up the 670 m for about 3 hours. The view above made up for the fact that I arrived half dead and red as a tomato.

amazing view !

It's really nice how many animals you see in Thailand, a whole family of monkeys on the side of the road, I think these monkeys were already used to people because they were very trusting and let themselves be petted. Almost too trusting, because they also wanted to steal your backpack, hoping to find food in it. My friend left his coke can, grabbed it, and drank it up 🤔

With a somewhat wilder monkey family that we met a little outside of town in a small, jungle street. It was nice to see how the largest and oldest monkey of the family sat down on the street and waited until his family members crossed the street😍😍only when everyone was safe on the other side did he go over there too! that was nice to see!

Another curious situation was seeing an elephant on a truck driving across town....it must have been driven such a "ride on elephant park". You can see something like that on every corner in Thailand. Of course we didn't support that.

Just like the parks where you can pet tigers and lions, just like animal cruelty! but it is a big attraction in Thailand and always well attended by people. In my opinion, that doesn't work at all!

Phi Phi Islands
Phi Phi Islands

Each island in Thailand has its own "style" sometimes more sometimes less green, sometimes more palm trees, sometimes more sometimes less rocks in the water.

😛
😛

The famous part of the island of Koh Phi Phi was closed at the time because too many tourists wanted to go there every year. They were closed to allow the animals and plants to recover. It's a good thing... the island and all of Thailand even had 2 years left longer time to recover from the tourists.

the last lazy days...
the last lazy days...

The time in Thailand went by far too quickly... the last 2 days we looked at Bangkok, were in different temples and of course on the crazy Kao-San Road, there you can eat spiders or scorpions or try laughing gas🤡

Meanwhile, it was getting crazier in the world because of Corona. Our flight times changed every day. and meanwhile we had 12 hours!! stay in China 😥

We saw more and more crazy videos from Germany with empty supermarket shelves, I just hoped that our flight would be canceled completely and we would have to stay in Thailand. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Our flight had meanwhile 15 hour stay in China. Horror! We saw people completely wrapped in plastic at the airports...that was crazy!
And as fate would have it, a woman wearing a double mask sat right next to us in the plane, protective gloves and full-body plastic foil were a must.

Then we landed in China.. we wanted to leave the airport, but we had to show something and were not given permission to leave the airport area. Anyway, we were a bit put off by china and waited at the airport for the onward flight.
The hours at the airport dragged on... it was extremely cold in this building and there was a Corona announcement every 10 minutes: "Please protect yourself and others blah blah".  In the beginning, I mentioned that we gave away all our winter clothes when we arrived and wanted to buy something new in the end. we only traveled with a small backpack and simply had no space for it.
This plan didn't work out so well...we were too late to look for a winter jacket or shoes. In the end, we bought what was available and looked like complete idiots! We didn't have shoes or a thick jacket...it was the end of February...perfect!

almost too embarrassing to show...

The time in Thailand was super nice...I'm glad I saw it again before Corona! Meanwhile the entry has become a bit difficult :( I hope that will change again! I can only recommend it to everyone...

Thanks for reading, see you next time
