STREET ART #91 - Porcelain figurines on a wall (Copenhagen, Denmark)

Two years ago I was in Copenghagen on a short visit. As I wentured out on a walk to see the city, I actually saw a lot more street art than I had expected. A lot of huge murals done by local and international artist. The inner city and especially the two districts of Vesterbro and Nørrebro really has a large collection. Most of them are huge, covering the whole wall of a building. Vesterbro is still the Red Light District, but it also has lots of restaurants and enough ethnic shops to keep you busy for several days. But the murals are amazing!

In Vesterbro I saw this wall painted with the type of figurines I remember my grandmother had as small porcelain figurines. I just took another turn, away from the more busy streets with shops and cafes. It was almost like this wall was hidden from the rest. Through the artist Søren Arilden's instagram acount https://www.instagram.com/sorenarildsen/ I found out that he did this painting in calaboration with Welinoo. https://www.instagram.com/welinoo/

This painting is done by the same artist, but I found it in Christiania- the famous and wellknown freetown of Copenhagen. It's a controversal district in Copenhagen, which was founded in 1974 and is known for its open view of cannabis use.

Hehehe... yeah, you are right....what on earth do they have in common, except for beeing made of porcelain...

Nice, seems like it was a nice trip. I thought that the 2 figurines in Vesterbro looked like real pictures at first. The reflection on the golden cat makes it very realistic 🙂👍

Copenhagen has so many huge, amazing murals, I really enjoyed walking up and down the streets. I am sure there are a lot more...

Very cool mural, especially the Maneki-neko 👍

Very cool work, nice effect to reproduce the porcelain figurines.
