Isn’t it a blessing when a couple’s love sprouts a good thing out of their unconditional love? Most of the parents are rejoicing, celebrating a new blessing that has come into their life. As the child grows, parents are required to look for people who will assist them in raising the child. That is when the godparents enter the child's life. I think the essence of being a godparent is that you’ll be the second-in-command when the parents ask for help.
Since Christmas is coming up, I believe that most of the godchildren you have are starting to emerge one by one. I don’t know why some parents are pushing their children to go to their godparent’s house for the sake of gifts and money. It’s the reality that is happening in the Philippines, though. However, some wise godparents will give gifts that will benefit the child the most, not the parents. That’s for sure! It has been months since a friend of mine gave birth.
I thought she was playing a joke on us when she said she was pregnant, but it turned out to be true. I remembered that she made a promise that when she turned 22 years old, she'd be impregnating her longtime boyfriend. And she did commit, turning it into reality as well. Most of the godparents she chose are in her circle of friends, and I was happy to see my former classmates after 4 years. It looked like a reunion, but at least we had a reason to gather all together; some didn’t attend, though.
The day happened so fast, and we came early to church. Actually, we came before them, so we waited for them for like 30 minutes. We talked about how our lives were going, our work, our boyfriend or girlfriend, and so on and so forth while we waited for our godchild. The years we haven’t seen each other didn’t cause us to be shy or anything. Everyone is full of enthusiasm and throwing jokes simultaneously. I’m so glad that we matured so well.
It was around 12:30 p.m. when the mass and pictorial ended. The baby is quite irritated because she has been passing things back and forth to us. Thus, she was very sleepy as well. The church and their house are not that far, so we reached them at 12:45 p.m. Unfortunately, the weather was so bad that it poured. We can't enter their house because there are too many people already there, so they installed a lot of lona on our roof.
I only get a small quantity of food at that time because I know that we will be drinking after. I have this tendency to puke when I’m drunk, and I don’t want that to happen. The foods were so good, especially the bopis. I like its spiciness and sweetness fighting in my mouth. They brought out the alcoholic drinks and placed them on the table after our lunch. I was surprised because we will be drinking Emperador Light, Red Horse, GSM Blue, and Ginebra San Miguel.
The drinking session has begun, and some of my friends have begun to sing in videoke. It was the local karaoke machine used at the party in the Philippines. We loved singing, but unfortunately, I’m not blessed enough to be a singer. I was dancing with some of my friends while they were singing. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't afraid to do it. Perhaps we’re not kids anymore. I cannot disclose the video here because it’s quite wild. To see my friends laughing without filters is the best and most refreshing sight ever.
It was around 5 p.m. when some of my friends started to leave because they had worked at 10 p.m. They have to rest and sleep to gain some energy for work. There were still a lot of people around the tables, and there were plenty of drinks. We didn’t want to waste any of them, so we continued. In all honesty, I am not used to drinking without a chaser. It's something I'm not very good at, so I know it won't last long. I started to have a headache around 6 p.m. I feel like my head is already spinning, and I told them I have to rest.
They accompanied our friend, who is a girl because she can’t walk anymore. I followed them, although my balance was off. I was swinging in the video, and I almost destroyed their table inside. Lucky for me, it didn’t happen. A couple of minutes after I laid down on the bed, I felt the urge to puke, so I went to the bathroom. I think I puked twice since I went down twice as well.
I was so sorry for my friend’s aunt, who cleaned up the bathroom full of my messes. I totally passed out after that, and I had no idea that they filmed me. I was laughing so hard, and I was speaking English nonsensically. The time I brought my phone out of my bag, I received so many missed calls from my mother. She must be worried about me. I went home around 9:30 p.m., and it was a one-of-a-kind day I’ll never forget.

It turned out to be a great reunion in the end. It must have felt good to see your old classmates because you guys look very happy in the picture.
To hold a party like a reunion is not easy. My classmates too have been planning this but there has just been disagreements.
Yup. They are so good and healthy. Most of us gain weight a lot and change our body form. That's true, it's hard to manifest the plans for reunion since not everyone has an available time to spare for.
I don't have one so I am safe haha!

I was like a worm wiggling left and right. Nah, I definitely not going to make baby yet. Cute lang pero mahirap mag palaki at alaga in real life.
