My inspiration in Bodybuilding Sports and my Achievements

in Hive PH4 years ago
For everyone's information, my full name is Roderick D. Ternida with a height of 5'4 ". November 2003, Musclemania World was held in Humboldt Beach California. This is considered to be the biggest competition by Body Builders from different countries. Of the 12 who showed off their elegance in the lightweight division, I was selected and won.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's movie "Pumping Iron" enticed me to enlarge my body. I used to have Asthma and I was thin and sick when I was a child. I used to go out with my family to Luneta Park on the beach before to get rid of my Asthma for a while. At the age of 21, I started holding a barbell. Unlike others, I have no money for payment in the gym. We just made our own gym equipment.

So I just saved money to buy Arnold Schwarzenegger's book and magazine that I used as a guide and inspiration for Body Building. And I also learned from other bodybuilders the different experiences I have today. In 1991, I promised myself that one day I would become famous in the field of Body Building. And after 3 years, I received a series of trophies from various Bodybuilding contests I participated in. And closest to my heart was when I won the Musclemania World in 2003.

When I left that day, November 13, 10:00 in the morning, the visa arrived. And that day, I did not have a plane ticket, I was asking for help because I was running out of time. I almost had no training that day because of paperwork. Despite what I went through, I still came home with the trophy that the Philippines can be proud of. It is too late for the government to notice my talent. With the number of medals and trophies I have in the field of Bodybuilding, I have not yet made it to the training quarters of the Philippine Bodybuilding team.

But the day also came when I was included in the Philippine National team. And that day, I also met my new coach and others I will be training with. And that day was my first formal meeting of the Philippine athletes. My body and my destiny have changed a lot. Until I landed in Abu Dhabi and worked here and became an instructor.

Today, since the Pandemic entered our world, man-made, I am here in the Philippines to continue what I started. We need to take care of our bodies until we grow old. And share with the youth our life experience and how we achieved it.

Don't give up on your dream like I did!

Your story is so inspiring. Goes to show that if we put our mind and efforts to our goal, there's a greater chance at achieving it.

Let's just learn to endure the pain and suffering of the body, you can overcome everything.
