Hey, Hivers! It’s me, @makiyumee. Today, I will be sharing to you a very important and memorable milestone in my life, and this is our school’s first pinning ceremony for pre-service teachers. Hope you’ll stay with me until the end, and so let’s go!
It was a bright and sunny Thursday morning of January 23, 2025 and the covered court of our school was filled with activity. The place was amazingly decorated with colorful clothes, balloons, plants, and ribbons. The chairs and tables were neatly arranged, all set up for the big event later that day. The air was full of excitement as everyone around me were making some last-minute preparations.
I arrived at the campus early that day because there was an attendance sheet to sign. After writing my name on the list and also with the time of my arrival, I looked around and then spotted my classmates who were busy getting things ready. I quickly made my way to join them for I was eager to lend them a hand.
Some of my classmates, along with the other 4th year students from the other sections, were busy skirting the tables and putting on the rented seat covers. I helped in arranging the chairs and also carry some table. The warmth coming from the sun made us sweat but we didn't mind because the goal of finishing the tasks before the program starts was nailed in our minds.
As we continued to work, my classmates and I would share jokes and what ifs to each other, feeling excited of how the event later would play out. As the preparations almost came to an end, I felt a sense of pride while I looked around because of how we managed to transform the covered court and made it looked so formal for the event. We all knew how important and memorable the event was going to be, so we really did our best to make it worthwhile.
It was around 10 am when the program officially started with the processional. The air was filled with energy and anticipation while my classmates and I waited for our turn to walk down the red carpet the stretched majestically across the covered court. As we waited, my classmates and I took photo together to capture the joy and significance of this milestone in our journey as future teachers. Laughter filled the air was we posed for playful and candid shots.
When it was my turn to walk down the red carpet, I felt how my heart was beating so fast as I took a deep breath while looking around. I stood up straight and then stepped on the red carpet while walking down with a confident look on my face. The ceremonial music playing through the speakers filled my ears and added magic to the atmosphere, making the moment more meaningful.
With each step I took as I made my way to my chair, I glanced at the proud faces of my teachers, guests and the audience. My mind was a mix of emotions. I was excited, nervous and overwhelmed as I said to myself, "This is it. I am going to be pinned as a pre-service teacher." My heart was flowing with gratitude because of how far I had come and for the support of those who had guided me along the way.

The program went on smoothly as it was now filled with meaningful moments and heartfelt speeches from the speakers. The masters of the ceremony went to their places in front and their confident voices guided us through the event. Soon, it was time to formally introduce our batch to the campus president.

As the assigned speaker, who was from the main campus, announced our batch and programs, we all stood together and the sound of the applauses coming from the audience filled my ears. I felt my heartbeat race once again and I grinned when the campus president accepted all of us as pre-service teachers ready to receive our pins. Another round of applause erupted around us and I felt a sense of pride knowing that this was another step achieved in my teaching journey.
Later that day, I found myself walking towards the front and I stood at the center of the venue while feeling both nervous and honored. Time seemed to slow down as I watched one of my teachers install my pin on my uniform. I glanced down at the pin that was now attached to the fabric and I smiled as I saw my name printed in capital and bold letters along with the name of my school and my program. It was such a small and simple object yet it hold a huge meaning and symbol of everything that I had worked hard for over the years that I had spent in school.
After all the interns had their pins installed on them, we all returned to our seats and listened to the next line of speakers who shared their teaching journey with us. I listened intently, noting everything that would be helpful in my upcoming journey as a teaching intern. Their words were filled with encouragement and reminded us to stay passionate, determined, and compassionate as we move forward in our teaching journey.
As the program came to an end, my friends and I stood together with our hearts full and our spirits high. The weight of what we had just achieved was still sinking in. We moved closer while laughing together as we posed for the camera that my friend had already prepared.
The shiny pins on our uniforms twinkled under the sunlight, each one a symbol of our hard work, late nights and dreams that were slowly turning into reality. With joyful hearts and unforgettable memories, my friends and I made our way to our separate homes, carving this beautiful memory so that it will never be forgotten.
That would be all for this blog, I hope you all had fun reading it and I will see you all on the next one!

What a nice memory to be with you forever
