OUR GRAND-DAUGHTER'S CHRISTENING

in Feel Good4 years ago

As is the practice of Catholics around the world, Baptism is the first sacrament we receive as a child. Since most of us are Baptized as babies, a Godmother and Godfather are chosen by the parents, to witness the blessings and beauty of this sacred event.

The Godparents are the voice of the child. They witness the priest anoint the baby with holy oil, then hold that child while holy water is streamed over her head.

The priest recites "I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as the water flows. Smiles break out, as the baby generally starts to scream, almost shouting "Hey that's cold"!!!

It's a wonderful happening. The Godparents are honored by being chosen, Mommy and Daddy are so proud and thankful.

God Bless Jordyn...

The Godparents are always in the paparazzi as the cameras flash to document this very special day.

It was a #sublimesunday, @cOff33a, really. you would have enjoyed it.

As well as you, @ace108, there were lots of hugs on this #beautifulsunday.
Really such an uplifting day!

Reminded us all to keep the faith, stay positive, treasure every moment together as the gift it really is...because nothing is guaranteed in this life.

Only one draw back.(dang virus).

Usually there would be a big family celebration, with everyone invited. It's Jordyn's HELLO, HERE I AM DAY for the extended family, "Hi cousins, happy to meet you" kind of thing. Always great to catch up with everyone and see how quickly all the children have grown since their Baptismal day.

But this one was scaled back to just Mom, Dad, Godparents and grandparents. And of course, Opie, Jordyn and her sister Peyton's best friend, their doggie. Oh Opie, so gentle with the girls, such a love.

Although, I am sure, mommy was glad good ole Opie was napping and not in the mix just then. A crying two year old is challenging enough. 😏

The day couldn't have been finer, with great food, joyful hearts,
and lots of love.

In the spirit of joy and just the #feelgood community, I must share a little color as in #alwaysaflower.

My passion, growing beautiful flowers...

Aweee...so glad to hear that. You two need to plant some roots.
It may be boring for you two world travelers, but there is no place like home.
Find it, embrace it and plant a garden, grow your own food, even if it is seasonal.
I know pura will find health, just by planting herbs, the aroma alone will soothe her soul.
Now cook with your own stuff, biff !!, your heart will grow, you gain all around.
The physical work to grow your own food will be so much better than a gym. Sweet fresh air and sunshine, nature, birds singing. It will swell your heart!

Go for as much dirt as you can afford, it will pay you back in spades.
This world is crazy, so take yourselves away from this madness as much as you can.
I realize you are like my boys, my daughter are stuck in the middle right now, weigh the plus and minus of what's going on in their careers, their families...
Life has changed, my only prayer, all stay healthy.
I thank God we were smart enough to teach health from the day they were born.
Breast milk, to organic food, to juicing to vitamin supplements . check , ckeck, check!!!
I am proud to say, my family is healthy, I pray it stays that way.
I am loved.
So I share my love with you and the lovely pura...xo

I just read this message to Pura @farm-mom. As much as the four of us may be strangers, I believe we're connected. On your lead, we're gonna go for "as much dirt as we can."

Would you believe we shopped for houses for 12 hours on Friday?! uhhhgg. Looked at three yesterday and four more today. We've been finding ourselves willing to sacrifice a for B and B for a which means location for land and vice versa.

On your lead, because of this message, we're going to focus on dirt and get "as much as we can afford." The market is CRAZY right now but if we put ourselves outside Knoxville a little bit--40/45 miles, we can reasonably afford upwards of 4 acres whereas if we check all the boxes in the house and stay in the city, we're looking at a modest 1/4-1/2 acre.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us, we'll sacrifice location for property. Cuz bet your ass Pura has been planning this garden of hers nearly as long as I've been planning the German Shepherds. 👍🏿

Thank you!

❤️

Oh you will be happier out of the city. Although 1/2 acre is pretty nice size for city property.
I am sure you will find the perfect place.
But your dogs will love lots of running room, pura will get garden 👍

Ah congratulations on little Jordan's baptism, she's too gorgeous! Beautiful cake and flowers as well @farm-mom, how this virus has changed our lives! I don't think any of us could ever have thought this would have happened!

Omg Liz so much has changed!
And I am not happy about it, I just turned 66 and I would have never thought i would be in this situation at this age. These golden years are getting a little rusty.
But us oldies but goodies would forge on. What choice do we have? My mantra is stay positive 🌻🙏

Ps. Yes our little girl is awesome. All my kids are my joy❤️

Cute little girl.
I'm glad all of you had a joyous occasion.

Thanks so much for your nice comment.
Thanks for checking me out.

You're welcome.
Thanks for joining in the fun.

What a joyous day for your family. And your flowers are gorgeous. :))

Oh it was a wonderful for sure.
I just enjoy seeing flowers bloom, makes me smile.
Hope all is well with you and your family.
Enjoy the day.

That was a great day. I missed seeing all of the family, but in time that will happen, large, very large gatherings WILL happen again.

Looking forward to the big bash.
But it was very lovely with our little group

Good morning @farm-mom @thebigsweed. Will you please relay a message to my man over there? I just responded to his email. Thank you!

What a beautiful and marvelous day ! Nice of you to share the pictures of this wonderful moment 😊

Thanks Barbara, I can’t stop myself from sharing these beautiful days. I know life is hard for so many around the world, and I want to share happiness when ever I can.
I love having my virtual friends from around the globe helps me to stay positive.
Hope you are well and happy 😊

God bless beautiful Baby Jordyn and hold her close, as well as your family & loved ones!

How many months old is the little angel now?
Always good to see updates from you! @farm-mom

Good morning @ninahaskin, thanks for popping in, always nice to hear from you.
Jordyn is 9 months old now and such a happy baby. We feel so blessed.
Focusing on my grandkids has helped me cope with the stress of covid 19 on our way of life.
We are fortunate to be retired and tucked away in the mountains, we feel safe here and always have lots to do on the farm.
The worry about my working children has calmed, they follow the rules and have mom and dad's best interest at heart. They visit us at the farm, 1st one at a time, but at the end of the month I will have all of my four children, my daughter-in-laws, and the 'GRANDS" all together again. First time since FEB.
We will be celebrating 6 birthdays!
Sorry, a little chatty this morning. hehe
You have a wonderful day my friend.
