Apparently the reason why college students in the US are getting lots of debt is bec they have to study like up to 40 units / sem? 😱 (+ it's expensive)
That's 2x what I used to have in college dito sa Pinas! (And I was in a trimestral univ!)

I don't know what a Unit represents in USA... But the Max I was allowed to do when I studied in College was 24 Units. (There are exceptions.) I mostly did 21s myself.

I know right? Me too! Didn't ask that person what course they took that has that high a number of units though. 😆

The US Government supplies student loans that:
Are fairly easily to apply for, relative to car loans, home loans, etc., from what I understand.
Students must pay, & cannot even cancel the debt with bankruptcy.
This re-inforces high tuition fees, via Gov-supplied loans.

In short the government is making money out of students. 😂
Or, the colleges are lobbying Government officials, to straddle youth with inescapable but easily accessed debt, in order prop of the cost of tuition fees.
