Still trying to paint my subjects in close-up, I walked through the beautiful alleys of the villa Savorelli.
At the beginning of my favorite alley, young laurel shoots looked like "a miniature palm forest".
This impression was my guiding idea for the watercolor.
I began by setting up the arcing composition of the "palm leaves".
Then, while preserving the leaves in the foreground, I set up the painting with a negative painting technique.
Following the same logic, I used indigo blue to accentuate the depth of the forest.
At this point, I was not satisfied with the overall framing of the painting.
I took the risk to make a full composition.
Finally, I accentuated the dark colors of the ground, and suggested the warm colors of the dead leaves on the ground with light strokes of colored pencil.

Intentando todavía pintar mis sujetos en primer plano, recorrí los hermosos callejones de la Villa Savorelli.
Al principio de mi callejón favorito, los jóvenes brotes de laurel parecían "un bosque de palmeras en miniatura".
Esta impresión fue la idea que me guió para mi acuarela.
Empecé por montar la composición arqueada de las "hojas de palmera".
A continuación, conservando las hojas del primer plano, monté el cuadro con una técnica de pintura en negativo.
Siguiendo la misma lógica, utilicé el azul índigo para acentuar la profundidad del bosque.
En este punto no estaba contento con el encuadre general del cuadro.
Me arriesgué a hacer una composición completa.
Por último, acentué los colores oscuros del suelo y sugerí los colores cálidos de las hojas muertas en el suelo con ligeros trazos de lápiz de color.

Sempre cercando di dipingere i miei soggetti in primo piano, ho passeggiato per i bellissimi vicoli di Villa Savorelli.
All'inizio del mio viale preferito, i giovani germogli di alloro sembravano "una foresta di palme in miniatura".
Questa impressione è stata la mia idea guida per l'acquerello.
Ho iniziato impostando la composizione ad arco delle "foglie di palma".
Poi, pur conservando le foglie in primo piano, ho impostato il dipinto con una tecnica di pittura in negativo.
Seguendo la stessa logica, ho usato il blu indaco per accentuare la profondità della foresta.
A questo punto non ero soddisfatto dell'inquadratura complessiva del dipinto.
Ho corso il rischio di realizzare una composizione completa.
Infine, ho accentuato i colori scuri del terreno e suggerito i colori caldi delle foglie morte sul terreno con leggeri tratti di matita colorata.

Toujours dans l'optique de peindre mes sujets en gros plan,je me suis promené dans les belles allées de la villa Savorelli.
Au début de mon allée préféré, de jeunes pousses de laurier ressemblait à "une forêt de palmier miniature".
Cette impression a été mon idée directrice pour réaliser mon aquarelle.
Je commençai par mettre en place la composition en arc de cercle des "feuilles de palmiers".
Puis, tout en préservant les feuilles du premier plan, je mis en place la peinture avec une technique de peinture en négatif.
En suivant la même logique, j'utilisais du bleu indigo pour accentuer la profondeur de la forêt.
A ce stade, je n'étais pas satisfait de l'encadrement général de la peinture.
Je pris le risque faire une composition pleine.
Finalement, j'accentuai les couleurs sombres du sol, et suggèrai les couleurs chaudes des feuilles mort au sol avec de légers coup de crayons de couleur.
