Sun came out. Slow start - been a few of those. Was hoping to get some orchid walks in. One of the TV chefs, Maeve O'Meara has taken over a cafe in Currarong. We headed over there - was hoping to find bistro open and a bit of a deli. She has been advertising the changes a bit on her Facebook page - we are friends
Well it did not work out that way. Chicken pies special sold out before the 1pm start time. Deli selection in the fridges were 3 items. We placed a fish and chips order - doing good trade on takeaway. Ate our lunch in a gazebo structure overlooking estuary
And beach - lots of people out on a perfect day
Proof we were there at Beach Safari. It is a bit of a schlep to get there from Shoalhaven Heads. They need to step up beyond takeaway fish and chips to get us to drive 50 kms round trip again
Was a moderate wind day - so we chose to drive to Point Perpendicular lighthouse which stands at the northern end of Jervis Bay. Last time we came it was too windy for my wife to get out the car
View from the lighthouse across the entrance to Jervis Bay
Crocus flowering in lawns of the lighthouse precinct
One of the cottages. Would be amazing to stay a few nights - sadly not open for visitors
Thought this was a blue lobelia - does not quite fit ID - a first time find for me. Colour on photo is less blue than the plant showed
Another ID test - maybe goodenia
Drive down the first side track toward Cabbage Tree Beach - road was closed. Doubled back to Long Beach on Jervis Bay. Photo into Jervis Bay
Popular beach with flat water. Perfect for paddle boarding or sitting in donut floatee. Heard the kids call "Dolphins" - pod of 10 or 15 cruised down the beach. Did get them on video
Pigface in the dunes - we knew them as vygies where I come from
Stopped at one access road into Jervis Bay NP for me to walk. Fuel light had come on. My wife stayed in the car with engine running as it was hot. Cut my walk short - would hate to run out of fuel keeping cool.
Not a lot of orchid action - none. Not seen this little yellow flower before - needs ID
Was good to be at the lighthouse without the huge wind of our last visit. Disappointed to not be able to walk more. Will get more chances when we move down and I have my one car. OR take time out to visit on my own with my own car. It is a bit far to cycle on a day loop.
Got home to find one of my Facebook friends had passed away after a short illness. Gillian loved singing karaoke. She had a fab sense of humour
This photo was her Pretty Woman pose lots of years ago. More recent photos tell a different story than none of us knew about. RIP - rule the karaoke 🎤 wherever you watch over us
Dinner: Pizza
Trade action: Staying quiet ahead of options expiry. Let the market decide

Looks like a great place fren!

I would love to post from InLeo but the images do not show up correctly on Hive.blog or Ecency or Peakd where my community hangs out. They show fine from InLeo
Hi! I create all my post on Inleo form scratch, no copy paste from other editors, and I checked on all front ends, the only one that seems to have problems displaying the images is hive.blog , looks like they don't support imgur. Could be a good idea to ask them if they plan on upgrading and displaying a wider range of options for images
That is the problem - who should be fixing that. My readers are all on hive.blog. I know how I fix that - I post where my readers are. The whole inLeo front end sucks in my experience - and the arrogance of the people is the worst
That's weird, I post from inLeo and all my pictures show perfectly on peakd and ecency.
Are you uploading them directly into the post editor inLeo?
Yes. Just made a snapshot of new posts in LeoFinance - go in and you will find that every photo that is not showing a featured image is posted from InLeo. This is posted from Hive.blog which is where my readers are - it is unusable
I don't understand why people use hive.blog, I guess they like the simplicity. Well, now I need to bring them all to inLeo lol
Simplicity works. And if one started there, good chance one will stay there. I do - been using it and the predecessor on Steemit since 2016
Yeah I like that editor since early 2017 and I do like it, it's just not enough for me, especially since posting on InLeo earns you $LEO tokens, lets you generate ad revenue in your posts, and let's you monetize the content after the normal 7 day window. So in my case benefits > simplicity.
Hopefully we'll get the image source issue solved (but afaik it is a hive.blog issue) so your community can all migrate together to the frontend of the future hahaha
So much in that post my friend. The beach walks warm me up and you are definitely my source of orchids!
So sorry to hear about your friend! She seems like a beautiful person even in the pictures and a karaoke lover always seems to be a special one.
Great to hang with you another day and condolences.
I struggle when people younger than me pass. The conspiracy theorist in me is in rebellion mode. The orchids keep me focused on the best the world has to offer
Thanks for the support. Found a fab group on FB for orchid care - easy to start. Head to your local big store and offer them distressed orchid price and start your own journey
