A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit.
A baric anomaly, which has penetrated a vast anticyclone, has caused a very strong storm in the Mediterranean accompanied by intense cold winds of Balkan origin. The most intense rains of the year developed particularly violently in the Gulf of Naples.
It all started last night and the Gulf Islands, in the midst of a heavy swell ,have accumulated in six hours between 120 and 200 mm of rain. This morning we woke up with the news that a huge landslide affected the island of Ischia causing dozens of victims and as many missing.
Fortunately, the news of is revealed to be much less serious even if the tragedy has caused only one victim there are dozens of families displaced because they have lost their home. A safe victim and information because of the political chaos generated by the last elections in Italy on 25 September.
Unfortunately, once again humanity is lost in questionable attitudes while mother nature continues to give signs of intolerance towards human behavior on this planet.
The island of Ischia is a volcanic island and the houses were built on the slope of Mount Epomeo which is a volcano that is presumed extinct, but like its older brothers Phlegraean Fields and Vesuvius is still active even if it has long since not shown its activity.
Obviously because of the soil already impregnated with water the mix of ash, volcanic stones and large boulders easily saturated with liquids and this time came down a mountain wall pouring into the sea.
Currently there are still eight missing but we hope that they will be found soon. On the islands live a lot of my friends and my best friends and it makes me angry to see them victims of human neglect and political speculation.
Despite the cold #alive and the incessant storm I managed to get out to go shopping as soon as it stopped raining. Cold from feeling the 10 degrees present in the air celebrating my #iamalivechallenge 213.

Well, given that volcanic and seismic activity has been increasing notably worldwide for a few years now, that Mauna Loa has started erupting again does not at all surprise me. The glow in the sky at night can be seen in some areas, as can high altitude sulphur dioxide, but so far it poses no threat. It's about forty miles from where we are, and about a 12 miles from Saddle Road, the most direct route between Kona and Hilo. So all good for now.
