The day absolutely did NOT start out as this picture shows! We had rain; we had hail; we had more rain! The crazy thing was the bursts of sunshine sporadically throughout all of the crazy precipitation! It was also downright chilly too!
I spent time this morning while the crazy weather was having its way, roasting an order of coffee for a fellow out on the east coast, and then a couple of pounds for us as well.
Once that was done, packaged and labeled for shipping, it was early afternoon and @silvertop had come in from his endeavors of firewood splitting and lawn mowing (yes in the rain). Up here, you don’t always get to wait until it’s dry to mow! 🙄
He wanted to go down to the river after I dropped the package off at the post office, so I made a deal with him. River-and then a coffee date! He agreed, so we headed out.
The skies had cleared of big fat rain clouds to big fluffy cumulonimbus clouds! The sky was so blue!
I found some interesting rocks as usual.
I wanted the rock in this next picture to take home. I left it and now regret that as I’ll probably never find it again. It was a good sized rock and wouldn’t have fit in any pocket too well if at all.
It was a little warmer at the river as it’s somewhat protected by the tall trees from the wind. When we got to Lynden for coffee, it was back to being chilly.
It was even chillier back home! 🥶
The sun is still shining, but it’s going down into the upper 30’s tonight. It’s going to take those poor seeds I planted the weekend before last, twice as long to germinate! Will my garden get to grow?
My fencing has arrived however I’m waiting until next weekend to fence (weather permitting) as I also ordered a couple of fabric raised bed gardening containers, and want to get them filled with dirt first. I’ve still got a couple things to plant yet, plus a second later planting of corn. I’m hoping for good weather!

Yes, it seemed quite cool for a partly sunny day. I was out to Service Canada to get some help applying for a Federal Dental plan for my Mother whom I discovered that she didn't have a Dental plan. Justin Trudeau is so proud of this political achievement so it may be too bad that thanks to his Carbon Tax, that many seniors that apply for the plan can no longer buy enough food to keep from starving. My Tomato and green onion seeds are just barely germinating.
Both of our governments are so messed up!
Have you tried plastic for the seedlings?
I noticed my neighbor a few doors over still has their black plastic sheet over their veggie garden. Nothing happening there. His next door, their bee hive still looks undisturbed and I haven't seen many bees out and about yet.
I've got a couple onions poking their heads out, but not much else is going on. The bee hives around here; one up the hill and many in the valley, are very, very busy! It's just that the dirt is somewhat cold and it needs to be warmer I think, for things to begin happening.

We had so much rain yesterday and now it is getting to a point that our current rainy period wont just stop and I desperately want to get some sun light.
