I finally had a proper leg day yesterday, and it felt pretty good. I’d been having stomach issues on Wednesday, which meant I couldn’t make it to the gym, and then I came down with malaria too. Eventually, I got some medication and luckily started feeling much better, so I forced myself to go to the gym yesterday. I tried not to go too hard, but I definitely did. I even hit a PR on lunges.
I started with squats as usual, although I could only manage 10 reps at 100kg, which is far below my normal weight. But at least I showed up. Then I did some leg extensions, followed by Bulgarian deficit split squats, and then lunges. I used a pair of 30kg dumbbells first, then decided to attempt a PR with 40kg, and I got it. After that came hack squats before I closed out with machine ab crunches.
It’s funny how I always get compliments on the size of my legs but never my upper body. Even though I try to push myself every single session, it feels like I give even more during leg days. Maybe it’s because training legs is almost like cardio, and at the same time, it’s a mental battle. Maybe I just need to accept that I genuinely love leg days.
Anyhoo, thank you for reading. Till the next one. God bless.
