Leg day - Lessons Learned

Yesterday humbled me. It was leg day. I walked in like I always do, went straight to the squat rack, and loaded up 110kg. Nothing crazy, I’ve done 150kg for reps before. This should’ve been routine. I unracked, got into position… and then it happened. I went down and couldn’t come back up. Collapsed under the weight. First time ever.

Not gonna lie, it was embarrassing. But more than that, it exposed something deeper, I lost the mental battle. Immediately after, I was scared to step under the bar again. 110kg suddenly felt heavy in a way it never had before.
That’s when it clicked. Barbell squats aren’t just physical. They’re mental. Once your mind checks out, your body follows. I stood there for a bit, reset myself, and eventually got back under the bar. Finished two more sets. Not pretty, last one stopped at six reps, but I got through it and completed the workout. Small win, but it mattered.
Like one of the guys at the gym told me: it gets easier. You fail, you shake it off, and you keep going.

Also, a proper cut would do wonders for my physique right now. But I love food too much 😂. Stepped on the scale after my session and I was at 103kg. Solid.
Ciao.
