RE: Colours Of The Wind - Theme Song From Disney's Pocahontas

This effect is very creative, maybe there are even guitars with a screen? I don't know, you have done well with the song making changes in the tonality, it is a beautiful song and has a timeless message about the importance we should give to mother earth, I can't tell you if the use of the Disney video is the most appropriate in terms of copyright, but in a creative way it has been very beautiful because of the contrast between the grayscale video and this colorful guitar.

I agree with you when you say that Disney songs convey a beautiful feeling, they are so well thought out that they are great, thanks for sharing a story and a song.

As for the topic of copyright I was also curious to know where the boundaries are. On Threespeak we have no concerns about copyright and when it comes to artistry we can ponder where the limit of fair use can be stretched.

However on Youtube they have a team of people who will flag your video if you cross the copy right line even one inch, especially with Disney. I can tell you I uploaded this video to Youtube out of pure curiosity to see what they will say and it passed all their checks! I was very surprized...There are many times I have got a copyright strike for much less than this, but on this occasion they say nothing at all about copyright.

With regards to the contrast of grayscale vs the vivid colours of the Disney video ,this was purely an accident I found out while editing. When I clicked to remove the orange/yellow hue of my guitar it takes that hue out of all the video. If you notice the tone of my skin, it even removes the colour from that if I key out this hue. The result is much more interesting that I hoped for. The background fades to an almost black and white while the Disney footage remains very vibrant in contrast. A powerful effect I did not expect when filming the video.

I love singing this song and editing it to this original Disney footage today was a joy for me. I am glad to know my work is enjoyed here. This is one of the videos I am most proud of making even tho I did not expect that when starting this project.
