This time I would like to tell you about my passion for music and playing certain instruments, not only listening to it but also playing a song or singing it, for some time I had wanted to have an acoustic guitar but for money reasons I had not had the opportunity to buy one, until I could buy one, I've had it for two months now.
Pues bien, mi pasión por la música viene desde que era un niño, esto se debe porque crecí viviendo en una familia de músicos, con talentos extraordinarios, veía a mis tías cantar, a mis primos tocar la guitarra o el bajo, a mi tío tocar el cuatro venezolano y de un cierto modo me sentía atraído en querer aprender también, lo más curioso de esto es que nunca me inscribieron a una escuela de música y a día de hoy con mis 27 años es una de las cosas que quisiera hacer, me gustaría aprender a leer la música con partituras y perfeccionar el tocar la guitarra acústica.
Well, my passion for music comes from when I was a child, this is because I grew up living in a family of musicians, with extraordinary talents, I saw my aunts sing, my cousins play guitar or bass, my uncle play the Venezuelan cuatro and in a way I felt attracted to want to learn too, The most curious thing about this is that I was never enrolled in a music school and today with my 26 years is one of the things I would like to do, I would like to learn to read music with sheet music and perfect playing the acoustic guitar.
En varias ocasiones unas de mis tías y algunas de mis primas han participado en varios eventos de cantos y han ganado, haciéndonos sentir orgullosos de ellas, siempre han catalogado a la familia Dumónt como una familia de grandes músicos. Tanto como uno de mis tíos como uno de mis primos, han tenido sus bandas de rock alternativo, hoy en día ya no existen pero quedan los bonitos recuerdos, yo personalmente he sacado canciones con mi primo y también alguna que otra entrevista en la radio acá cerca de donde vivimos.
On several occasions some of my aunts and some of my cousins have participated in various singing events and have won, making us proud of them, they have always catalogued the Dumónt family as a family of great musicians. Both one of my uncles and one of my cousins, have had their alternative rock bands, nowadays they no longer exist but the beautiful memories remain, I personally have released songs with my cousin and also some interviews on the radio here near where we live.
El primer instrumento que aprendí a tocar fue el cuatro venezolano de mi tío, gracias al mismo primo con el que he sacado algunas canciones pude aprender, al principio era frustrante porque no controlaba bien los dedos al momento de querer sonar alguna una nota pero al poco tiempo aprendí, recuerdo que a la edad de 8 o 9 años, mi papá llego un día de trabajar y yo estaba almorzando, cuando lo vi al él con un cuatro en la mano y él me vio a mí, me dijo “hijo mira lo que compre para ti”, la emoción fue al instante, era como si diciembre y los regalos se hubieran adelantado, ni siquiera termine de comer, fue chistoso porque como no lo creía le había hecho la pregunta a mi papa que si de verdad era para mí, me respondió afirmando con la cabeza y me abrazo fuerte.
The first instrument I learned to play was the Venezuelan cuatro from my uncle, thanks to the same cousin with whom I have released some songs I could learn, at first it was frustrating because I did not control my fingers well when I wanted to play a note but soon I learned, I remember that at the age of 8 or 9 years, my dad came home from work one day and I was eating lunch, when I saw him with a cuatro in his hand and he saw me, he told me "son look what I bought for you", the emotion was instant, it was as if December and the gifts had come early, I did not even finish eating, it was funny because as I did not believe it I asked my dad if it was really for me, he answered me by nodding his head and hugged me tightly.
Ese día y toda la semana estuve tratando de seguir aprendiendo, apenas llegaba del colegio, buscaba el instrumento y seguía, recuerdo que venía con un manual básico para poder afinarlo y también con algunas canciones de autores venezolanos, me dolían los dedos de tanto tocar, mi primo fue quien me siguió guiando a como tocar esas canciones y mi tío también, aprendía rápido y ya quería empezar a tocar la guitarra acústica, aunque primero aprendí a tocar el bajo eléctrico.
That day and the whole week I was trying to continue learning, as soon as I got home from school, I looked for the instrument and continued, I remember that it came with a basic manual to be able to tune it and also with some songs of Venezuelan authors, my fingers were hurting from playing so much, my cousin was who kept guiding me how to play those songs and my uncle too, I was learning fast and I wanted to start playing the acoustic guitar, although first I learned to play the electric bass.
Con el tiempo seguí aprendiendo y hasta el día de hoy se ha vuelto un hobby, una de las cosas más importantes en mi vida, tener esa pasión por tocar canciones de mis artistas favoritas, ya sea en privado o compartiendo y cantando con amistades me hace sentir muy bien, por esa misma razón en algún futuro cercano quisiera entrar en una escuela de música y elevar mi talento en este arte. Siempre he querido interpretar y leer partituras.
With time I kept learning and until today it has become a hobby, one of the most important things in my life, having that passion for playing songs of my favorite artists, either privately or sharing and singing with friends makes me feel very good, for that same reason in the near future I would like to enter a music school and elevate my talent in this art. I have always wanted to perform and read sheet music.
No suelo hablar de este tipo de cosas con nadie pero sentía que sería una bonita historia para contar y compartir con la comunidad de hive. Me gustaría que compartieran y contaran de cómo aprendieron de sus talentos, ya sea en la música, en deportes, en lo que sea, seria genial contagiar y animar a otros a que cuenten ese tipo de historias o anécdotas de la vida.
I don't usually talk about this kind of stuff with anyone but I felt it would be a nice story to tell and share with the hive community. I would love for them to share and tell of how they learned from their talents, whether it be in music, sports, whatever, it would be great to spread and encourage others to tell those types of stories or anecdotes from life.
