My minimalist diet(#kiss)

in The MINIMALIST10 months ago

Many people ask me what my minimalist diet is all about. Do I eat only once every day or do I buy snacks in the afternoon? Some of my friends had formed their theory of my minimalist diet. But no, my minimalist diet does not involve me eating once a day or buying snacks in the afternoon.

My minimalist diet is the food I cook by myself and how much I hate buying food from restaurants or eating out. Aside from being expensive, I know nothing about the ingredients they used to cook or preserve the food, so I can not determine if it is what my body needs.

When cooking, I try not to use processed foods like tomato paste and canned foods. I'll rather use fresh ingredients and vegetables. Although eating foods filled with vitamins and minerals is good, you should give room for fats, as it is part of the seven classes of food.

There was a time when I was only cooking vegetable sauce for every meal I had to eat. Although vegetables contain vitamins and minerals that are needed in the body, I did not give room for adequate energy-giving foods which should have the highest percentage in my body.

It also helped that I did not have to stand in the kitchen for multiple hours to prepare the sauce. But, I was losing energy quickly without replenishment because I was in school.

The brain needs its sugar to produce energy to send and convert signals. I was not giving my brain enough of that and it was telling on me.

We had about 2 - 3 lectures four days a week, and I remember feeling extremely weak after the first lecture, each day. My friends had already noticed how easily I got weak and they were concerned.

I knew I had to start adding carbohydrates to my diet, so I tried to find a balance. I started eating rice with my vegetable sauce or salad. I also got more cereals and oats for breakfast to provide the much-needed fiber and calcium for my body.

I have also started eating roasted chicken at least twice a week.

Just like my vegetable sauce was nutrient-filled, you may have a strict diet coined from the best ingredients. But when you take or do things in excess, you may leave out something very important for the body. Find your balance.

Thanks for reading 😘😘

You've highlighted an important aspect of minimalism that not many pay attention to. Yes, I do like to prepare my own meals so I know exactly what goes in it, too.

I can't agree more and this is very informative about "minimalism" and I belong to the group of people who prefer to prepare my food and making things in balance than just eating what others cooked outside. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice and healthy day 😍

Cleanliness and proper food care is a universal problem. You're rolling the dice whenever and wherever you eatout though different people with different perspective. Wow it's good to know you cook yourself @diding, seeing man doesn't depend on wife to cook is very rare .

Keeping a balanced diet is always the best way to go. It is good that you have made the necessary adjustment in other to get the best from your food.

I love preparing my food as well, out there we don't know what goes in their pot as far as ingredients go.

Thanks so much ma'am,to be very sincere ,I like cooking as an act of love, to prepare good food is to give health, happiness to those you love and yourself,my act of love start early in the morning in my kitchen.

Ones need to be very careful of what you take outside, cause I've heard and seen alot

Thanks so much momma,so fortunate and opportune to have you here, will love to always have you around ma'am.

Yes, cooking for me as well is an act of self-care and cooking for my family and friends is one way I show them care and love.

Thank you very much for having me @seunruth enjoy your new week.

Yeah,Thanks

Agreed with you my dear friend. I so love how you defined a minimalist diet through cooking at home by yourself and not just by dining in at restaurants. What feels good to cool at home is to decide what ingredients we needed to add and exclude and I believe it is even more healthier. Great thoughts from you and I commend you for that. Happy eating and more delicious foods to cook my dear friend.

Exactly ma'am after my first week of drastically switching from Fried/fatty food to greens, whole wheat,fruit/veggies and healthy fat like avocado and unsalted nut....I started feeling more rested after sleep, woke up before alarms and didn't feel groggy or even grumpy.it boosted my mood and over all felt energized at work.

Happy eating and more delicious foods to cook my dear friend.

Thanks @pinkchic ,so much happy having you around. much love 😘😘

This is really true. Sometimes we try so much to stick with one diet and at the end of the day, our body always tells on us. I like that you have started spicing up your diets 😊.
