Around about a year ago I was asked to step in and take some shots of a couple of pageant queens and the runners up. These images are the two queens. Its a funny thing, the pageant world. It had such a bad rep a few years ago. It was perceived as something only men watched and only "bimbos" entered.

Over the past few years most of the pageants have kind of moved away from the appearance led pageants and its as much about what each entrant can bring to the game as how pretty they are. The entrants in this particular pageant all had to prove their "eco" credentials and also say what they intended to do and how they were going to promote eco awareness during their one year reign.

All four ladies I worked with were bright, intelligent and funny. And a joy to work with. No shallow diva like tantrums, just four young ladies having fun and supporting each other.

I don't know whether I am reverting to type, (e.g. typical male) but I did take quite a lot of different shots, with the ladies in ballgowns, casual clothing, other dresses and outdoor wear. But yep, I have gone for the swimsuit shots. Hopefully you will get to see some of the other styles in a later post.
These were the first images I edited from the shoot as the organisers wanted the two queens in bathing costumes first - so I guess there is still a bit of a hangover to the bad old days.
