SOUL FOOD

My whole life I have been drawn to nature, not really ever knowing why or realizing how connected we are with the outdoors. My heart is peaceful and my soul soaks in the beautiful energy I collect while I ground out in nature!

I have never been super adventurous, the older I get the more I want to try and the more I want to discover. I love learning new things and enjoying what life has to offer, I spent too much time on the sidelines watching everyone else navigate life through adventure.
When Wes and I went to Thailand, everything changed. A passion within me for photography, art, creativity, and self love grew unimaginable amounts. I wouldn't have ever expected the change within me to take place, but it has.

I see nature through a new set of eyes, the sky's natural gradient tones of blue, the soft winds, the trickle of the water as it passes through rocks gently, the gorgeous presence of color between each beautiful individual flower.....I could go on. My eyes were tuned to a new frequency of appreciated and gratitude!

Photography has a way of making you slow down and really evaluate the object in front of you, these flowers I would have admired and move on. But check out the veins of the leaves, the mashup of pinks, yellows, magenta, maroon, and whites within the flowers. It is MAGICAL!!

From Summer to Winter the beauty stays the same, the hues change and the areas of respect shift to softer more subtle movement. The harmonious divide between the ice and the still moving water is something I would have never appreciated before.

And the fact that this waterfall still refuses to completely freeze over is something so beautiful <3

The point of all of this, is take more time to ground yourself in areas that surround you with peace and love. Enjoy the small things and stop to take a longer look at the flowers, bugs, leaves, water, clouds...stars....whatever and realize how absolutely lucky we are to have such simple and AMAZING beauty in our lives.

Your photos are so awesome. I am glad you are catching the photography bug and that I can be right there with you as you learn.

That's awesome, I totally agree that photography can help you slow down and learn to appreciate things around you a little bit. It can sort of be distracting in some ways as well, always looking to get a cool picture instead of sitting to relax at a spot and enjoy it but I try to do that after I sit and enjoy a quiet moment or two.

I remember when DV started photography, he was always stopping and taking pictures, I never understood what took so long for him to get a shot, LOL. But now I know and I understand. I am enjoying the ability to slow down and just enjoy

Yeah for sure! Where we live, it's always go-go-go and it's hard for my wife to adjust a little bit and slow down to try and snap a cool picture here and there. She's been getting better lol

I love this!! Yall are so awesome. Nature is so rewarding and healing in so many ways. That itself is what draws me to nature.

Seriously though!! We should all go down to the arches, my heart yearns for red rock!!

I agree!! I'd never deny a trip to Arches. I really want to go to Zion and Bryce Canyon as well. Devils landing is on my list for sure.
