I have been seeing more turkey walking around as the summer starts to wind down. First it was just adults, but now I am seeing the poults as well. That is what the baby turkeys are called. I see three of them with this family. Good to see they are doing good, hopefully predators do not take them out before they can fully grow.

The babies are so small they are obscured by the grass quite a bit.

But if you look closely you can see them sticking out of the ground.

Eventually one of them walks into the wood line.

The other thinks about leaving but does not just yet.

Well now its just one turkey.

The next day I saw them again, this time in shorter grass.

They seem pretty comfortable where they are, but can quickly run into the woods when they want to for safety.

Now we can really see the babies!

They keep walking down the meadow along the tree line.. taking their babies for a walk.

Eventually they find some shade and just hang out there for awhile.

It was really cool seeing a family of turkey..

They sure are.. love them
Nice shots! You definitely have a good variety of wildlife there!
Yeah we sure do. Love seeing all the birds.
Nice pictures. I didn’t know baby turkeys are called Poults. I know the collective name for a turkey is a “gang” though.
lol!
“A gang of turkey.” Did you know that?
It might be their season of comfort or something, maybe that’s why you’re seeing a lot of them around these days…
Thanks. Hah yeah baby animals have all kind of funny names.
Oh cool. No I did not know that. I have heard of a "murder" of crows. But never a gang of turkey. Thanks for sharing that fact.
I think so I need to check when turkey season is.
A Murder of …
Also just learning this!
Wow!
Thank YOU!
These turkeys and you walked on the grass like as spend leisure time.
They sure do. Happy little birds.
Turkey family absolutely cool and peaceful. Looking at them brings us nice feelings. Nice captures while their walk.
Ah thanks. Seeing wildlife all the time is a good feeling.
The turkey family looked very happy and comfortable there. The little ones, especially, were happily playing in the grass with their parents. Hopefully, no predators bothered them.
They do seem quite happy with their environment.
Well sadly I do see their numbers decrease over time. Sometimes I see them return with less babies. Though it is possible that is a whole other family.
They are so sweet thank you for sharing these moments with us
Ah glad you liked them.
Yes I like it
That turkey family must be enjoying their time in the grass. It is great you captured them right in the moment especially the babies lurking. It is cute to witness an animal family. Great shots btw😉❤️
It sure is cool seeing baby animals roaming around.
Thanks

I do like seeing them quite a bit. Always a nice surprise.
Increible.
That is pretty cool! I've never run into young turkeys before in the wild. You have great piece of land out there with so much wildlife. What a great place just to enjoy the beauty of nature!
