Low water levels in the pond

Now I have been mentioning the warm temps here and lack of rain, now I am not complaining, OK maybe I have been but I shouldn't as I know compared to lots of places around the country and around the world for that matter have far more extreme high temperatures and droughts, not to mention wild fires causing so much damage. but one place here I have really noticed the impact of this warm weather is at the Pond in Buttonwood Park, where the water level is lower than I have seen it since I lived here, and from some comments on facebook lower than many who have lived here for years or decades have seen, so for todays post I will share some shots of the pond.

Overnight we did get some rain first for a couple of weeks, but doesn't look like it was much,

The first photo may now give a good idea of how low the level is but in the foreground and in fact where i was standing taking this photo is normally covered with water

These shots are from a few visits to the pond over the last week, I have swung by there after early morning sunrise walks, such as this next one which has more light than most of my shots I post, and gives a better idea of the low water level in the pond , all the dirt in the foreground is normally covered with water

And on another morning, I had bene at the beach but the sunrise wasn't much so I swung by the pond and caught this shot with some colors of the sunrise, not a shot that highlights the low water levels but its one of my favorite spots to look over the pond

the same day from another angle it really is so dry and one thing I noticed that morning was very few ducks and geese around

Great colors over the pond. It could be a photo for a global warming campaign with the dried out receding shore line in the foreground. It has been dry here also. Some of the small creeks are running all the way dry between rains and that usually wouldn't happen until much later in the summer.

Thanks
yes I do agree it does highlight the changing climate

I do prefer the term climate change to Global warming myself, as people point to the extremes we are also having at the other end of the spectrum with extreme cold in parts of the world, and people use that to say Global warming is Fake

the term climate change covers both extreme events and is perhaps more understandable to those in blinkers who refuse to see the dame being down to our beautiful planet

Not just a pond in your Buttonwood Park. Many ponds or lakes in various places in this hemisphere have dried up. Even it has caused excessive worry, because it is a source of water for life.

The effects of global warming have really caused concern for all of us. Awareness to minimize the causes of global warming should be an awareness of each of us, it is a form of our responsibility to protect this earth, it must be preserved as a legacy for generations after us.

Ohh yes that is so true I know it is happening in so many places around the world and all the horrible bush fires far worse each year.
I do agree with what you are saying and do what I can to minimize any impact my daily life has on the planet, I do prefer the term climate change to Global warming myself, as people point to the extremes we are also having at the other end of the spectrum with extreme cold in parts of the world, and people use that to say Global warming is Fake

I agree with the term climate change you convey. But the "global warming" nomenclature has become mainstream. you certainly have a logical reason to call it fake.

Climate change is very pronounced in my place which only applies to two seasons, the dry season and the rainy season. But, what was happening right now was really strange. In the dry season it can suddenly rain heavily and in the rainy season, the temperature can reach 35°C. Something that has changed from the standard and is no longer really the dry season or the rainy season as it should be.

Ohh I do not call it fake no matter what term is used it is so obviously happening we have done so much damage to the planet and we really need to take action now

Oh, the colors are just fantastic :)

thanks so Much have a good weekend

We got some light rain last night but not enough to really make a difference on can but hope we will get some soon

Hey. I found a tool online that makes it really easy to write your blog posts. It basically makes it as easy as copy-paste work without running the risk of getting flagged because of copy-paste. I use it every day and you can try it for free. https://jasper.ai?fpr=riaan65

What? What a magnificent iridescent orange-golden sky!!! Stunning natures beauty! I'm glad that you shared this, what a nice shots.❤️❤️😍😍

And thanks for your visit and kind support

Que genial fotod

Lovely photos and also sad JJ, as drought is a terrible thing.
Our last drought lasted for 8 years and it ended 3 years ago, bur some other areas in South Africa are still facing some serious drought issues.
Thousand of cattle, sheep and wild animals have died.

I remember reading about the droughts there they were terrible

The crazy thing is some states have harsh droughts and others are suffering from serious damaging flooding

More signs we need to start making changes now and helping our planet to recover

And the latest news now is about the fires and the earthquakes. So we are in dire straits my friend.
The scientists predict that this is only the beginning and so things will get worse very soon.

The time that we had to make a change has expired as they say that the time for real action was 15 years ago.

Have a !BEER

Yes indeed it is well past the time we needed to make changes to have real impact but we can still make some changes

Yes we can indeed make some changes, and if the governments are dragging their heels, then it's up to each of us. I made our old house almost electricity free and will do the same here now.
Then I will get a tank to catch the rain water for the garden and toilet.
Just a start as I am also thinking about an inverter.

Yes we have to do what we can as individuals that’s why I put in solar panels in this house

Great and well done JJ. I wish that we could also install solar panels, but they are way too expensive for us. At least you are doing the things right.

Hey @tattoodjay, here is a little bit of BEER from @papilloncharity for you. Enjoy it!

That's such a shame when the ponds are water deprived.

Really takes away the wildlife. Hope it cools off and gives you some rain! It looks really low!

We had some rain Saturday night but it wasn’t enough at all and none forecast for the next week

But let’s hope before to long we get some

The quality of your pictures is unique, I really enjoy looking at them because is something like 3D experience. I know maybe what I say this is too much for you, but the colors and details are epic!

Thanks that is so kind of you to say and truly appreciated
