Hi Hiveans Family, Buddies, and Friends.

This is @uwanderer. This point in time I wanted to share with you another portion of my life who is a volunteer.

And I wanted to dedicate this post to all volunteers who are selflessly offer their time, effort, and heart helping the people in need.

Philippines is one of the pathway of 15-20 typhoons per year but as the time change so does the climate.

In the recent study with Philippine weather. The typhoon frequency in the Philippines increase from 15-20 and turn into 20-25 per year. Not only the typhoon increases but also it destructive force.

As stronger typhoon passby in the country more families and communities are being displaced and uprooted in their residences area.

Displaced families are often prone to many challenges such as shelter, health, nutrition, and safety.

During this time of crisis the vulnerable groups such as single parent/mother, elderly, person with disability, and children are heavily affected by this traumatic situation.

Children are among the most helpless in times of crisis particularly if they lost their loved ones, their houses, their neighbourhood, and their school. This is a multilayer of stress and anxiety to them. If not properly address it will cause a long term stress or worse depression.

To answer this call for aid and support. Volunteers who are trained to conduct psychosocial care and psychosocial support to children affected by the natural disaster or calamity.

Trained volunteers will conduct various therapy sessions such as play therapy, music therapy, art therapy, interactive storytelling, puppet show, reflective film showing, and others.

To give you a glimpse of what is mentioned above, please see the photos below.

Trained volunteers dedicate several months to ensure the progress and development of the children from detached and withdrawal from all activities into interactive and playful.

It takes a lot of patience, understanding, respect, care and dedication of handling children with special needs.

And seeing children from timid and fearful become jolly and active. Is a rewarding feeling to all volunteers. Add on small hugs and thank you from them really melts the volunteers heart.

I hope this post give you a snippets about the life of volunteers. Big hugs to all volunteers who uplift and touch the lives of others and making a difference in the society.
