The city of Dunkirk has certainly recovered, but you can still see traces of the war that remain as a constant reminder of the massive scale of the massacre. Today, it is an intriguing city with truly beautiful beaches perfect for watching the sunset. Yet, when you remember that half a million people were crammed here, it still sends chills down your spine.
I highly recommend everyone visit this town on the border with Belgium and explore the aforementioned museums. Additionally, stay for the sunset and take a walk along the beaches, which are truly beautiful and unique. I was there with friends, and we ultimately enjoyed both the stunning sunset and the rich history of the place.
