Hellooo there fellow Hivers!

Welcome to my Market Friday!!!

Now the Old Guy is one to try finding a decent deal. In fact, nothing makes me happier than saving a buck or three. Conversely, I hate to get ripped off.

I had two bags that were good through the second and took this photo on the first. Not cool Kroger. Never were opened of course. Usually Kroger is top notch. I wonder if they were bagged too soon and were moist. Now I have to call them Monday grrr...

Let me say a special thank you to the lovely @dswigle for putting in the effort to make Market Friday a happy place!

Oh, no!!!! No ramen? Now you have to make real food! Or real ramen! (It's really delicious! You should try it!) Nothing is worse than moldy bread, especially when you were going to put something between it! Ugh! I never check to make sure my bread isn't moldy... Now, I ask you, who does that? Nobody I know!

I am glad you got your shopping done, right in time for the 4th of July celebrations!

It is a quieter year than most and hope that it stays that way! Thanks again for supporting #alwaysaflower as well, I really like that allum. Really pretty and the color is too.

Sorry about the ramen actually. I know it is your go-to thing to eat. I wish you mom could see you now. :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to join the challenge! I love going grocery shopping with you, even if you buy ramen. Hey! What was up with that ribbon. For 4th of July?? You might have done better at Wal-Mart!! I appreciate the love and support you are giving to #MarketFriday! Without you and people like yourself, I wouldn't be able to have such a successful challenge! I know that at this time, it is harder to find something to fit the challenge. On a good day, it takes a lot of time and effort to be part of, so it means a lot to me that you participate. I hope you know that there is great latitude in what Market means. It can be typical of where you shop for food, or it can be a unique place that you visit. Thank you again for being a part of all this and I hope that you will, indeed, have a great day and week ahead! There is no doubt you know what you are doing, but, if any of your friends reading this... and wondering how to participate, this should clear it all up!

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Yes well the ramen plant is in your neck of the woods, so can't you pull a few strings and get the Oriental flavor going at least!

Where is it and who makes it? You know I don't eat the fake stuff. Give me the info! :)

Seems to me the "weekend of moldy bread." I had to cut some up today and feed it to the birds because it was developing green spots... maybe it's because it has been raining so damn much (at least here) and the humidity has been super high.

I wonder if they need to adjust the bagging process when it is hot or humid. Seems they are bagging it too quickly and trapping the excess moisture perhaps.

Damn, mold. I had nice looking packs of 6 washington apples that were 4 rottens in the pack before not so long ago.

Oh yeah that really burns me. Bet someone dropped them. I have to keep an eye on the baggers here. They dump fruit around like a bag of bricks!

It's never dull in your world, is it? Even a simple shopping trip is an adventure.

Exactly right! Makes life interesting for sure lol

Eughh mouldy bread is the worst. I hate it when you find out a little too late and you’ve already taken your second bite out of a sandwhich. You know deep down you swallowed it in the first bite and never realised yuck

Yes sometimes it is when you taste that funky mold taste that immediately tells you it is too late lol!

Just the worst

Sending tips with @tipU - how to guide.

If you buy them close to date or you buy them with a longer date and don't want to use them right way you could put them in the frig to help slow that down. At least that works most of the time.

Companies take no pride in making sure their product is right anymore. It's a gamble when you order for sure.

No pride at all any more and it is beyond annoying!

I just rely on noodles and ramen, they are always safe... :D

Yes but here there has been so much virus at the ramen plant they shut it down and it is hard to find ramen noodles anywhere ugggh.

It is bad when bread is just near its expiry date because they can get moldy at times when they expire @old-guy-photos, it happened to us before.
