REBEL PHASE?

En estas ultimas semanas he notado que mi gato está comiendo muchísimo mas que antes, asi que para que no engorde demasiado (porque ya me paso antes con mis anteriores gatos) decidí racionarle la comida, obviamente no dejo que muera de hambre pero si le sirvo poca cantidad en ciertas horas del día y no cada vez que lo veo vacío como hacia antes.

In recent weeks, I've noticed that my cat is eating much more than before, so to prevent him from getting too fat (because it happened before with my previous cats), I decided to ration his food. Obviously, I don't let him starve, but I do serve him small amounts at certain times of the day and not every time I see him hungry, as I did before.

Y he notado que se ha vuelto bastante mas obsesivo y manipulador, pero no solo eso tambien hace “rabietas” cuando no obtiene lo que quiere, me impresiona demasiado las técnicas tan astutas que tiene este gato para llamar la atención-

And I've noticed that he's become quite obsessive and manipulative, but not only that, he also throws “tantrums” when he doesn't get what he wants. I'm really impressed by this cat's clever techniques for getting attention.

Cuando lleva 5 minutos sin comer se desquicia y se hace la victima comiendo basura, literal cualquier basura o pelusa que consiga se la come, incluso ha llegado a hurgar en el bote de basura de la cocina, realmente eso es molesto porque no tiene necesidad de hacer eso y solo lo hace por drama y querer llamar la atención para que le demos comida. - Pero lo peor paso hoy por la mañana cuando mi hijo se sentó a desayunar panquecas, Tommy nunca ha sido un gato que quiera robarte tu comida o que te pida de lo que estas comiendo, asi que siempre sirvo la comida de mi hijo sin preocuparme demasiado, me fui a la cocina a fregar y cuando escucho a mi hijo gritando, si, Tommy se estaba comiendo sus panquecas.

When he hasn't eaten for five minutes, he freaks out and plays the victim by eating garbage—literally any garbage or lint he can find, he eats it. He has even rummaged through the kitchen trash can. It's really annoying because he doesn't need to do that, he just does it for drama and to get attention so we'll give him food. But the worst thing happened this morning when my son sat down to eat pancakes for breakfast. Tommy has never been a cat who wants to steal your food or beg for what you're eating, so I always serve my son's food without worrying too much. I went to the kitchen to do the dishes, and when I heard my son screaming, yes, Tommy was eating his pancakes.

Tuve que correr detrás del gato para que se bajara de la mesa, ahora comemos con miedo de que se monte a robarnos la comida, jajaja no me lo tomo a mal porque amo a mi gato pero si me llama la atención los comportamientos tan manipuladores y malvados de Tommy cuando no le dan lo que quiere en el momento que quiere.

I had to chase the cat off the table, and now we eat in fear that he'll jump up and steal our food, ha ha ha. I don't take it personally because I love my cat, but I am struck by Tommy's manipulative and mischievous behavior when he doesn't get what he wants when he wants it.

Pero no cambiare mi decisión, seguiré racionando la comida porque no quiero que tenga obesidad, a veces pareciera que solo come por comer y no porque tenga hambre.

But I won't change my mind. I'll continue to ration his food because I don't want him to become obese. Sometimes it seems like he only eats to eat and not because he's hungry.
