On a dark night, in the middle of the rain, Ulises was hurrying to get to his home in a small village. He had just come from studying with a couple of friends and was running late. His steps were long and firm, he was going fast, but he was also trying to avoid the small puddles that had formed on the ground.
It was only a few meters to his house and it was then when his anguished face began to change, he thought, "I'm almost there". Suddenly, he heard a whimper, like a puppy, God, he didn't want to stop, but it was insistent, besides, in that darkness it would be very difficult to see him. However, he turned around, looked all around until he saw a little white fur ball, it was all wet and was walking from one side to the other looking for a place to hide. Ulysses could not leave it there and took it with him.
She was about 3 months old more or less, her parents did not object and from that night on, that creature became Ulysses' pet. She looked so cute and seemed to him as cute as a doll, so he named her "Doll".
Doll was cute but a little strange, she didn't like normal food, instead she had a strong attraction for meat, if it was raw the better, she would devour it all. Ulises knew it when a piece fell to the floor while his mother cut it and Muñeca ate it almost without chewing. The boy was having a hard time feeding her, he didn't want to feed her doggy dog food like the other dogs, only meat.
What Ulysses didn't know was that his pet was not so normal, he was half dog and half vampire. Since he was not totally a vampire, he could tolerate sunlight, so he did not arouse any suspicion. When October came, doll was already 6 months old and just in that month strange things started to happen. They began to find the neighbor's chickens dead and without blood. One by one they were dying until she was left with nothing. Added to this was the fact that the little dog was rebellious, she only wanted raw meat and lots and lots of blood.
In the daytime she looked normal and playful, even so cute that she could fool anyone, at night she was totally different. But who would imagine that there is such a thing as a vampire dog? Well, no one, let alone think that Doll had something to do with the mysterious deaths of the chickens. At night, that cute little white dog would run away, her claws were long and black, her fangs protruded from her mouth, it was definitely not her anymore, she was unrecognizable.
)The month of October was his peak to show his dark side, but even more so on the 31st, the day of the witches. That night he went out in search of blood, but not just any blood, he wanted the blood of the easy prey, the children. He carried his basket full of candy and approached where they were alone, while they played innocently. It was cute to see a little dog offering candy, so the kids didn't hesitate to approach. Doll would hypnotize them and then suck their blood. She needed it to live, to be forever young and playful, fresh blood from very fresh meat.
No one ever suspected anything and every October 31st Muñeca went out thirsty for blood to look for her victims. Four years went by, until one witches' night, Doll was in full transformation and Ulysses, who had gone out to look for her, saw her. The animal saw its owner and despite being in full metamorphosis recognized him, she felt discovered and ashamed, as if she had betrayed him. Ulysses was stunned, he had never seen anything like it, it was so monstrous and he only managed to stammer "vam, vam, vam...vampuñeca.
Vampuñeca was the word he used to describe that macabre fact, that his pretty doll was not only a dog, it was also a vampire. Doll ran howling like never before and got lost in the middle of the forest. She never came back.
That night Ulises did not sleep, nor did he say anything at home, only that his little dog was lost. Every October 31 those terrible and deafening howls are heard. In the village no one knew, only Ulises who thought about his pet and what happened that fateful night. "What horrible howls," people said, without knowing where they came from. They came from the Vampuñeca, always thirsty, thirsty for blood.

En una noche oscura, en plena lluvia, Ulises se apuraba para llegar a su casa ubicada en una pequeña aldea. Venía de estudiar con un par de amigos y se le hizo algo tarde. Sus pasos eran largos y firmes, iba rápido, pero también trataba de esquivar los pequeños charcos que se habían formado en el suelo.
Ya faltaba poco, solo unos cuantos metros lo separaban de su casa y fue entonces cuando su angustioso rostro comenzó a cambiar, en eso pensó, “ya casi llego”. De pronto, escuchó un lamento, como de un cachorro, Dios, no quería detenerse, pero era insistente, además, en aquella oscuridad sería muy difícil divisarlo. Sin embargo, dio la vuelta, miró a todos lados hasta que vio una bolita de pelos blanca, estaba toda mojada y caminaba de un lado a otro buscando donde esconderse. Ulises no pudo dejarla allí y se la llevó consigo.
Tendría unos 3 meses de edad más o menos, sus padres no se opusieron y desde esa noche, aquella criatura se convirtió en la mascota de Ulises. Se veía tan tierna y se le pareció tan linda como una muñequita, así que la llamó “Muñeca” .
Muñeca era linda pero algo extraña, no le gustaba la comida normal, en cambio tenía una fuerte atracción por la carne, si era cruda mejor, se la devoraba toda. Ulises lo supo cuando un pedazo cayó al piso mientras su madre la cortada y Muñeca se la comió casi sin masticar. Al chico se le estaba haciendo complicado alimentarla, no quería perrarina como los otros perros, solo carne.
Lo que no sabía Ulises es que su mascota no era tan normal, era mitad perro y mitad vampiro. Como no era totalmente un vampiro, podía tolerar la luz del sol, por eso no levantaba sospecha alguna. Cuando llegó el mes de octubre, ya muñeca tenía 6 meses de edad y justo en ese mes comenzaron a suceder cosas extrañas. Comenzaron a encontrar muertas y sin sangre las gallinas del vecino. Una por una fueron muriendo hasta que se quedó sin nada. A esto se le sumó el hecho que la perrita estaba rebelde, solo quería carne cruda y mucha pero mucha sangre.
En el día se veía normal y juguetona, incluso, tan tierna que engañaba a cualquiera, en la noche era totalmente diferente. Pero, ¿quién se imagina que existe un perro vampiro?. Pues nadie, y mucho menos pensar que Muñeca tuvo algo que ver con la misteriosas muertes de las gallinas. En las noches, aquella linda perrita blanca se escapaba, sus garras eran largas y negras, los colmillos sobresalían de su boca, definitivamente, ya no era ella, estaba irreconocible.
)El mes de octubre era su auge para mostrar su lado tenebroso, pero más el día 31, justo el día de brujas. Esa noche salía en busca de sangre, pero no cualquier sangre, quería la de las presas fáciles, los niños. Llevaba su cestita llena de dulces y se acercaba a donde estaban ellos solitos, mientras jugaban inocentemente. Era muy lindo ver a una perrita ofreciendo dulces, así que los chicos no dudaban en acercarse. Muñeca los hipnotizaba y después les chupaba la sangre. La necesitaba para vivir, para ser siempre joven y juguetona, sangre fresca de carne bien fresca.
Nunca nadie sospechó nada y cada 31 de octubre Muñeca salía sedienta de sangre a buscar a sus víctimas. Así pasaron 4 años, hasta que una noche de brujas, Muñeca estaba en plena transformación y Ulises que había salido a buscarla, la vio. El animal vio a su dueño y pese a estar en plena metamorfosis lo reconoció, se sintió descubierta y avergonzada, como si lo hubiera traicionado. Ulises estaba pasmado, nunca había visto algo parecido, aquello era tan monstruoso y solo alcanzó a balbucear “vam, vam, vam…vampuñeca.
Vampuñeca fue la palabra que usó para describir aquel hecho tan macabro, que su linda muñequita no era solo un perro, era también un vampiro. Muñeca corrió aullando como nunca y se perdió en medio del bosque. Nunca más regresó.
Esa noche Ulises no durmió, tampoco dijo nada en casa, solo que su perrita se había perdido. Cada 31 de octubre se escuchan esos terribles y ensordecedores aullidos. En la aldea nadie supo, solo Ulises quien pensaba en su mascota y lo que pasó aquella fatídica noche. “Que aullidos tan horribles”, decía la gente, sin saber de donde provenían. Venían de la Vampuñeca, siempre sedienta, sedienta de sangre.

Con esos colmillos se ve espeluznante. Pobre Ulises que se quedó sin su mascota, él se quedó con esa nostalgia de haberla perdido porque la quería mucho. Nunca se imaginó que era una perra-vampiro.
