The Gross Out Factor Is The Best Part

in Home Edders4 years ago

One of the things I like about homeschooling is that you can do things that you can't do in school. Things like making your frog do a little dance before the dissection gets underway.

Loosen up a little, biology teachers! There's more to life than finding the fat bodies!

We did, in fact, get to the nitty gritty of the guts.

This is one of those things my kids moan and complain about because "eewww" but then you can't pull them away from it.

Do you dissect things, read about the icky bits, or get messy during school?

Sort:

We don't partly because I'm not sure where my dissection kit ended up and mostly because we have one super squeamish child. They do get hilariously intrigued despite the grossness don't they XD

Too funny, I didn't get to do any of this stuff in high school and in college all we dissected I think was a squid or something. I think it will be totally something our son is into, he loves the gory stuff lol. We saw a hawk catch and eat another bird the other day and he thought it was wild. I think he would enjoy getting to dissect something like a frog to see how things work and look.
