I created a Wikipedia article about Hive!

in #hive4 years ago (edited)

After about 8 hours of non-stop writing, I managed to create the first article about Hive on Wikipedia in Spanish!

I did a similar work previously in the Steem chain and I mentioned this in my first post here. The main structure of the article was 1950 words without counting the references, I also used Wikimedia to create the web card about Hive and I used Wikicommons to upload the Hive logo so I could use it in Wikipedia. It was really a tiring work, but the first result I like quite a lot, the main information is already available in the article and soon I will add much more information, currently it is 10:55 am in my country and I haven't slept nothing, lol.

I am making this post to let the Spanish community know that if you are familiar with Wikipedia and are interested in adding more information to the article, you are completely free to do so. The article is currently available and online, so any questions you have or if you need help making your contribution, just let me know and I will help you.

Edit: I forgot to leave the link to the article haha, this is it: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hive_blockchain

Edit 2º: The user darthroison modified the URL to meet the encyclopedic criteria, he has also polished up the writing of the article, thank you very much @darthroison! This is the new URL: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hive_(criptomoneda)

Great!! Thank you so much 👍

https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hive_blockchain

Espero no te moleste.

Thanks! That really helps to spread the word.

Glad you are on Hive, following.

Thank you @anarchy999! I'm doing my best to make Hive one of the biggest projects. <3

https://es.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hive_(criptomoneda)&curid=9346091&diff=124649653&oldid=124621848&diffmode=source

Splendid! This could increase mainstream adoption for the HIVE blockchain as we know it. A job well done!

Thank you! I hope to be able to make an article with much more information and I also hope that someone will dare to create one in English (if someone doesn't come up with it, I will work on it myself as well)

You're welcome. An English article is needed for sure. Hope that someone would take the effort on doing it for the good of HIVE's adoption worldwide. I'm bilingual (English + Spanish) so I was able to enjoy your Spanish article about HIVE at its fullest. You have outstanding writing skills, my friend! Upvoted and followed. ;)

Thanks for doing something so useful for the hive community!

I am delighted to be able to contribute, as long as the whole community benefits from this, then I will be happy to do a job as incredible as this whole community is.

nice one :)

Thanks <3

Fantástico.

¡Gracias!

incredible work
Do you plan to do the same with and post english version to wiki?

Just like I answered on Twitter: Since my main language is Spanish and not English, I didn't want to do it in English directly to be sure not to make any mistakes, I'll wait a bit to see if someone more experienced in the language can do it, if nobody can do it, I'll be happy to create one too. :)

Thank you for your comment <3

Amazing! That's a lot of work, with an epic result! Thank you! :D

(So are you HivePeople on Twitter then? :D)

Oh no, I see you're not HivePeople now! It was confusing as I thought they had shared the Wiki article :D

Amazing! That's a lot of work, with an epic result! Thank you! :D

All this work is as epic as this community is, I will add a lot more information and also work on other little things I already added mention of Hive in the Wikipedia Steem article

(So are you HivePeople on Twitter then? :D)

To be honest, I didn't quite understand what you meant. But I assume you mean @hivetrending, they were the ones who gave me the idea and well, here I am :)

Ha, no, there's a user named HivePeople, being very active on Twitter too :D

Thanks again for doing the work!

Maybe it would be a good idea to link to https://hiveprojects.io/ there too?

Done @noisy! You can take a look.

IT is not showing up now. :(

I thought there was an english version.

I'm sorry, english isn't my mother tongue. I'm waiting for someone to get up the courage to work on that, otherwise I'll soon do the English version myself.

May I ask what is required to add an article on there assuming you are to help me? I want to add something related to a form of content called ulogs.

Cool. I can see that the fork invigorated the community. Good for everyone and congrats to all for the hard work being put into this. Kudos to you @flaws. :)

Great job and initiative!!

Well done!

Currently I flag every post with pending rewards greater than 80 dollars to balance the reward pool a little bit. That doesn't mean I wouldn't appreciate your efforts!

Hi Jaki! Don't worry, I read your post where you say that, so there's no problem. Thank you for your comment and for stopping by <3

There's always got to be one (enter; me). I'm not coming in to troll you @jaki01 but want to give you something to think about.. another perspective.

Why DV based on a set parameter.. the content itself is what should be judged since the content is how we technically "mine" this blockchain. We are rewarding the content. Why is good content, or at least content with effort, being punished?

Depends I guess how you answer this question..

(sidenote: I thought the payout was shown in HIVE, so the post was at 80 HIVE when you flagged it.. not 80 $ if I understand correct but you also may just have misspoke and meant to say 80 HIVE anyway.)

Can you say you felt that his work on this post/or even the contribution to the wiki that is the topic of this post, is not worth $16 dollars, compared to all the other content created around it that week? (and that's at a generous value of 1 HIVE/0.25 USD) -- keep in mind he's only taking half of that for himself.

To me I agree that this contribution is worth at least $8. This post itself took time, is in two languages, and it's also a way to reward him for the contribution to the wiki.

I would bet there is enough crap content that needs flagging that would balance out this post left unharmed.

Just my different side of the wall food for thought ;)

Why DV based on a set parameter ...

... to make people think. Anyway my downvote doesn't matter much, so just consider it as a symbolic gesture.

I thought the payout was shown in HIVE, so the post was at 80 HIVE.

The converted amount in US dollars is shown.

Can you say you felt that his work on this post/or even the contribution to the wiki that is the topic of this post, is not worth $16 dollars ...

That doesn't matter. I had to treat everybody the same way according to my 'rules', otherwise people would have thought I favored my friends (I even flagged one of my own posts!).

I would bet there is enough crap content that needs flagging ...

Sure, but my aim was to catch the circle-voted trending posts.

To better understand why I did what, read here.

EXCELLENT. I am working with a writer in Everipedia to get it created there as well.

Awesome! That's the spirit of liberty!
